(S03E11) I'm sorry folks, but with every passing episode I'm finding I'm already missing the season-long mystery arc. Sure, we have a shorter one being followed now, but It's the last one. What's Keith going to spend his time working on then? Small-time jobs looking for cheating husbands/wives? Bah.
The overall theme for this episode was pretty obvious: honesty. It was about being honest with others and with yourself, even if it means hearing something you don't necessarily want to hear.
Once again we get more than a couple shout-outs to one of my other favorite shows on TV: Battlestar Galactica. It's no secret that the writers and creators of this show are big fans of BSG, and it's so fun to hear them make digs at us die-hard fans of that series. And they're right -- they do sorta look like the Batmobile!
Besides the soon-to-be-gone season-long arc's, there's something else I'm already missing with this show. For lack of a better word, I miss the "gang." Where's Mac? Wallace? Hell, even Piz and Parker! At least we got a couple of scenes with Weevil, but damn he's being underused, and I feel sorry for him. Where's the tough bastard Weevil we've come to love? Who is this custodial engineer dude who's laughing at what's flushed down toilets? Not you, Weevil. Not you.
A few readers last week commented on how disappointed they were that Keith didn't consider that a professor of Criminology would recognize him. I agree with that, and yet again here he pulls another risky move by dressing as a police officer. Are we supposed to get that Keith's growing soft or that he simply isn't used to being famous?
As for Logan and Veronica, Logan really couldn't have picked a worse person to have slept with on his "break" with Veronica. Anyone else and maybe she'd brush it off, but even Logan's comment on what he thought of who he slept with won't help in this case -- not by a long shot.
Quote of the episode:
Veronica: "Now remember, when you rip off the breakaway pants, thrust your pelvis toward the bachelorette -- it's her special day."

Where's Wallace? Correct me if I'm wrong but has he only been in two episodes this season? And seriously this whole, "Hey Logan I don't trust you" thing is getting old, so you don't trust him, break up with him or stick by him, whatever. And I wonder if the CW promo is just playing mind games or are they really going to make Veronica preganent? And does anyone know if there going to bring Veronica's mom back ever?

I don't think we should trust anything in the promo for future episodes because they're tricky and they manipulate the plot to make people tune in.
But i totally agree on the point that the supporting cast is seriously underuse this season. they were already underused last season, and now, i don't even remember why they're there.
i think that's why we NEED long story arc in this show. the only way to incorporate these supporting cast is to integrate them into these story arc.
Wallace was so much more involve with Veronica's life in season one when he was the sidekick and when his mother was dating her father. They bring in Jackie for him in season two and he was sort of around Veronica's life still. and now, there's no tie between them.
Weevil was very much one of a central characters in Lily's murder and he has a bike gang storyline in season two. now he pops up once in a while to deliver one or two clues? come on!
Remember they dropped that other boyfriend, Duncan, because he was a boring character? how about dropping someone else this time around?

since when is madison someone who can be trusted to tell the truth? we all know logan hooked up with that girl on the beach so it's pretty obvious that is who he was talking about when he admitted to his indescretion. the problem here is that veronica believes madison and is of course going to go all ballistic on logan without getting the facts straight as she has been doing to every suspect this season. yet everytime she has been wrong this season she has not learned her lesson and it is seriously starting to bug.

I think the problem with supporting cast is budget. Every interview I see with Rob Thomas pretty much mentions that the only problem he has with the network is budget. Then again from a business (cost vs revenue) sense VM never should have had a second or third season with the numbers it pulls. If Dawn Osteroff and Les Moonves were not fans it would've been gone long ago.
I did want to address something. There seems to be a whole panic about the death of multi-episode arcs. The only thing I've read is that because the pickup was for 20 instead of 22 episodes they scrapped the last 7 episode arc for 5 stand alones. I've never heard that they are giving it up for good if they get a 4th season pickup. As for the full season vs "mini" arcs, the main reason they did this is the pickup for season three was 13 episodes and they didn't want to screw over us fans if it didn't get the back 9 (which it didn't, it got the back 7)
That being said I would love to see a season of VM with a proper budget and no network meddling :)

I thought it was a very amusing episode really. It was fun to see Madison back again, I like that the "old" characters come back every once in a while.
Veronicas soapopera rant and Keiths little musical number was really funny, so was the scene where Keith is checking out the uniform and Veronica makes above quote. Yes, I miss the season long arc as most people but overall it was a good and fun episode. I hope it gets renewed cos it's still one of the best shows out there at the moment and btw, the BSG references is awesome.

I'm a little confused about one thing from the episode, why did Max get all weird when he found out Wendy was a stripper, but it was kosher when she was "just" a hooker? I didn't really expect, or want, Max and Wendy to live happily ever after, but I'm not too sure how I feel about it going full circle with Wendy ending up working off her debt to Max by stripping. I dunno, that just didn't sit right.

I don't think Max was wigged out about Wendy being a stripper - I think it was the fact that no matter how hard she tried, people would still recognize her as either a hooker or a stripper. And that was hard for Max to deal with.
I think the main issue with Madison and Logan sleeping together (other than the fact that it was Madison) was that Veronica asked Logan who he hooked up with while they were broken up. And he didn't mention Madison. Though Madison could be lying (I thought about that too, though I doubt it, because it's not that simple on tv shows).
It was kind of Veronica's fault - in getting Madison to reveal that she hooked up with Logan. I mean, I know Madison's not a nice person, but Veronica kept talking back and stuff (and talking about Madison getting back with Dick and stuff) that Madison just finally put Veronica in her place...
