(S02E10) Well, Moral Orel fans, that's it for new episodes until the show comes back to conclude the season in March. So far, this season has delved much deeper into the lives of the citizens of Moralton, and it might be the only series on Adult Swim that's not afraid to add a layer of emotion to the comedy. Granted, that wouldn't really work for something like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but it does help Moral Orel to stand out from the rest of the crowd.
In this episode we learn that Stephanie, the hip chick we first met in the episode The Blessed Union, is Reverend Putty's daughter. Learning of their relationship puts a crimp in the Rev's plans to have sex with her, but there's a very touching moment at the end when they both decide to be father and daughter, even if her conception was less than natural and involved a woman stealing used tissue from Putty's bedroom so she could impregnate herself with his sperm. I can think of only one other story where a virgin was able to conceive a child, but I'm fairly certain it didn't quite happen this way.
I've mentioned it before, but the animation has improved greatly this season. I loved the expression on Orel's face when he tries to come up with a fourth "F-word" besides Friends, Family and Faith that can make people happy. Orel is so innocent he can't come up with the obvious answer. In the words of Reverend Putty, Orel is so pure it's almost irritating.

Adam, I've read your last few previous posts and I can't believe that I missed this show. I compare Adult Swim to Dave Kingman, Rob Deere, etc; they either hit a homerun or strike out terribly. Being that I didn't have Cartoon network until a few years ago, I only knew of a few good shows. Moral Orel sounds, from your posts, to be right up my alley. Do you know of information pertaining to a DVD release?
