Anderson Cooper has been going after Fox News for some of the things they've said and the way they've handled various news stories, and now the cable network is going after Cooper.
Not only are the hosts of Fox & Friends and Greta Van Susteren hitting back on the air, Fox has also taken out a full-page print ad. How can they possibly say those things about him, accuse him of being "manufactured" and that he hasn't earned his position? Are they kidding me? When was the last time we saw Steve Doocy traveling all over the world, reporting from dangerous countries and conflicts? Cooper is the one who bought a handheld camera and went to foreign countries to report before he even had a gig, when he was really young. I think he's earned it. (In related news, Fox News actually tried to hire Cooper.)
After the jump, two videos of FNC's campaign against the CNN host.
(But come on readers, if Fox News wants to say something like that, we can think of something better to call them. How should we fill in these blanks? "Fox News is the _____________ of TV news.")
Update: Looks like Fox even got the facts wrong.

Doug, frighteningly enough I'm sure Faux news and their fans would consider that a compliment.

"Style over substance" the ad uses, and the Fox & Friends hostess uses the word "fabricated."
That's kind of like getting plastic surgery right after you switch to the nation's most shallow news network.

Fox News : professional news :: Tang : orange juice
There is nothing left/right about attacking Fox News. As the link in the story about Fox News trying to woo Anderson states, they are a propoganda machine for the far right and Jerry Springer all rolled into one.
I do find it interesting the constant touting of the high ratings Fox News gets. Of course they get higher ratings. News is pretty boring stuff, and there certainly aren't a lot of people that will watch it on a regular basis. It's like, 24 gets higher ratings than the News Hour (not that I am equating the quality of CNN to the News Hour, but they are both news), and nobody sees Kiefer Sutherland going on TV and badmouthing the News Hour because they get such low ratings.

Isn't just enough to say:
"Fox News is the Fox News of TV news"?
I think it should be reversed and Fox News should be used to describe other things:
"This rotten tuna sandwich is the Fox News of lunch"

Fox is a joke. Anderson Cooper is one of the best reporters on television and has more than earned his current prominent status at CNN. It says a lot about Fox when they have to resort to cheap insults in response to a legitimate criticism.

High five #19. Anderson is a class act and stellar reporter, and I have no doubt will not sink to Fox's level of hurling childish insults, so I'll do it for him. Fox News sucks shit through a straw.

Fox has conservative commentators where other networks--all of them--have liberal ones. If anything, they attempt to balance out the TV news landscape, for what that's worth. Why such hate? Oh yeah, they get all the ratings.
I think Brit Hume's newscast is the best of them all--PBS included. You really do not get a grasp of his political ideology, he just reports the news. Then, he does a balanced round table discussion. Fair & Balanced indeed.
O'Reilly...hmm...sometimes he's okay.
I do not like Hannity, and I haven't watched his show in years. He just spews too much rhetoric, all the time. I dislike Shep too--done with him after his Michael Jackson verdict meltdown. That Greta chick is a tabliod journalist, never watched her show.
