Because your sexual tension is very awkward to watch on American Idol. I'm not sure what happened during Idol hiatus for them to spark up this sudden eternal flame for each other, but it's kind of strange to watch without any rumor, backstory or explanation. This behavior would be acceptable if such blatant tension was present during their first season as hosts, but it's just weird to happen all of a sudden now. The only indication we had of their off camera relationship can be deduced when Paula was quoted comparing Simon to either "a big brother or a lover". Two choices that should never be given in a single sentence, especially not in reference to a family friendly show.

If you need some further evidence, I present you yesterday's episode of Idol. Watch the clip closely when Paula goes to physically "hurt" Simon after his comments, he responds back to her with his creepy version of bedroom eyes and then she says "You're a bad boy". Words cannot express my gag reflex right now. I certainly cannot make this up.

In other awkward TV moments, what producer thought that Tyra banks was tantamount to Oprah in that her audience would follow anything she did on The Tyra Banks Show ? Although it's great to demonstrate the importance and the need to take an HIV test, it didn't help that the person directing the test used a speaking tone similar to ones people use when speaking down to a group of 8-year-olds. It's one thing to report on the ease of the test, it's another to publicly report on results. The whole reveal was very ungraceful even for a supermodel.
