Anne Heche sure loves 'em and leaves 'em. ET is reporting the Men in Trees star has left husband Coley Laffoon (with whom she has a son) for co-star James Tupper. Heche and Tupper's characters are romantically involved on the show.
But here's the problem with co-stars hooking up: they often eventually break up. And when they do, it sure causes havoc with TV storylines.
Case study #1: Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson on The O.C. The young couple recently called it quits, and it totally shows. Seth and Summer aren't sharing scenes much, and when they do, they're at odds. Mostly, Seth has been off with Ryan, Dr. Roberts in Seattle or Che on a ridiculous (but funny) quest to find their spirit animals. Kissing has been at a minimum, and looks awkward when it happens. Now, it looks like they're introducing a "Che is in love with Seth" storyline to keep the stars apart even more.
Case study #2: Chad Michael Murray and Sophia Bush. After he allegedly cheated on her, the One Tree Hill pair got divorced. I'm sure that Lucas' budding romance with Peyton was already in the cards (yeah, right).
Oh, actors always claim they can be professional and work through it. But real-life drama always ends up on screen.
On-set relationships: romantic or trouble? What do you think?

Anne Heche really is exactly as Steve Martin depicted her in *Bowfinger,* isn't she?

This is a not-so-smart move on her part. Isn't she trying to overcome a not so great image to begin with?
Sure, divorce your husband and hook up with a co star of a show that hasn't even been on one season yet. No one will notice, right?

Bowfinger indeed. Too bad I like this show. That is until she ruins it by making the writers plot around her love life.

Should in in their contract that they can't get involved with co-stars.

This isn't unusual in Hollywood. And again, we only get part of the story. She may have had a bad marriage for all we know. Let's face it...only she knows why she did what she did.

Only they know what happened in their marriages... and it's not like they would be the first or the last people to fall for someone they work with. Just because some on screen/off screen relationships go bad doesn't mean theirs is doomed to fail too... I wish them the best.

Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Brooke (Spohia Bush) were a couple in One Tree Hill for nearly a full season after their divorce (including multiple kisses and even sex scenes). So no, Lucas' relationship with Peyton is not a startegy to keep them apart.
