And the world yawns as syndicators announce they've canceled The Greg Behrendt Show. But they're not pulling the plug immediately. According to TV Week, production will continue for the short-term and possibly through the end of the season but it will definitely be gone by the fall. Sony Television says it dropped Behrendt because he's creepy and has no business hosting a talk show. I kid! Actually, the majority of subscribing stations opted not to renew it in favor of The Steve Wilkos Show. Who is Steve Wilkos? He's a bouncer on Jerry Springer and his show is on fire with affiliates.Other syndication casualties this year include The Megan Mullally Show and Geraldo at Large. Do the changes improve daily television viewing choices? Eh. Probably not.

He IS creepy and has no business hosting a talk show.
And what was up with the weird clothing? Vests, glasses, etc. made him look odd. But then again, it is appealing to an odd audience.

Daytime tv "creators" are half right- they are getting much better at listening to the American viewing audiences regarding what shows are WRONG, but only in hindsight! They are still getting it WRONG on the front end- So let me state for the record- anybody in corporate who is responsible for greenlighting "Steve Wilkos" should be fired and black-balled in the industry for being totally clueless. No wonder that would-have-been-a-hit-talk-show-host guy, Troy Dunn turned down three offers to host a syndie show by saying "there is no integrity left in talk tv". I was saddened to see him NOT doing a show, but I had to agree with his statement- talk tv is dying, thanks in WHOLE to the suits making their out of touch decisions.
Good bye Greg B and may I be the first to say to Steve Wilkos, goodbye to you too. Enjoy your 15 minutes.

I am so sad to see the show go away. Greg B's show was much more classy than springer or povich. I was a guest on the show and I can tell you that Greg is a genuinely great person. I think that the sales people for the marketing failed miserably because no one here knew who Greg B was and never heard of the show. I wish Sony would not give up because he didnt even get 6 months to prove his worthiness and the ratings were getting better. anyway farewell Greg B unless people write to get you back on air :)

What's in a name? Probably a whole lot when it comes to the Greg Behrendt show and gaining some popularity. I did a Google search and could not spell his last name - even close enough for Google to suggest. I had a business card I then recalled. His last name reminds me of his screen personality; vaguely desperate. He could not find his style, he tried everything but is just not "host" material. His warm-up guy, the one caring for "old dog" who might be more fitting for the role, should he sans his ego.... However, HE has a natural comedic talent (I think Greg kinda knew it).

In my opinion the show as well as the host are uniquely refreshing and genuine and as another has stated, it WOULD be a a shame to see it go. Why must shows be outrageous like Springer's or Povich's to be successful? Ridiculous! Gregg's show has not been given a fair chance by ANY means and at this point I wonder about the integrity of those who control what we see. I can think of so many other shows that the networks should give the boot to and yet they toss out, in it's prime, one that is like a breath of fresh air. Makes absolutely no sense. I finally found something besides "Dirty Jobs" that I enjoy watching and now it is going off the air. I think I will give up television altogether if the networks are going to continue to act boorish and childish. We need a change of hands and minds there.

I was a guest on the show that aired yesterday about pageants. I'm glad the show has been cancelled. The producers totally decieved me about what I was on the show for. And the wannabe shrink that they have on the show has no idea what she's talking about. She's a made-for-tv doctor and she should definelety not be giving advice to anyone, especially not in front of the show's couple hundred nationwide viewers. Greg was kinda funny, but canceling his show is even funnier. Ha Ha!!!!!!!!

This is the first I heard that the show was cancelled! I LOVE GREG'S SHOW! I usually mute out Jerry Springer when I'm working at home and wait for it to come on. He has an aura about him that is positive. I don't think that he's "creepy" at all! Compared to Springer and some of the other shows.. he seems normal or at least sets a better example for viewers than the other shows. I think this news is a shame.

Honestly, until a few weeks ago, I had never heard of Greg Behrendt. I caught his show as I was sorting laundry.
Initially, I guess he does look a bit creepy (although I personally like the vests and glasses), and for those who make snap judgements based on appearance alone, what a shame. Because I found his honesty refreshing in an age of PC that keeps so many others carefully saying nothing. I only caught the last few minutes of that show, but he made a brave statement which made me think "this guy got his act together" and I can appreciate that.
I can't quote, but he was talking to a couple and telling the girl to move on and walk away from this loser she was going out with. Now, that's nothing unusual in today's talk t.v., but then he mentioned just a snippet about his own life. (ok, remember, this is just from memory, so I'm not quoting, but...) How when he met his wife, she told him she would have nothing to do with him unless he fixed some of the junk in his life. He decided she was worth it, fixed the stuff, made the commitment, and now considers his life better for it.
Wow! How wonderful! How... familiar!
The short version is I married my first husband because I was stupid, blind and in love. Several beatings, two years of psycho-babble marriage counseling and then the revelation that he was a pedophile sent me and our then 3-year-old daughter packing after almost 6 years of trying.
2 years and several proclamations of "I will never trust another man" later, I met someone. He liked what I lovingly refer to as 'hate music,' had an edgy quality to him, no job, and he smoked cigarettes and then some.
I had no interest whatsoever in any of those things. I had become a born again Christian and I had a 5-year-old daughter to raise. I saw him as 'friend' material because I ached because of some of the pain he had seen in his life, but little else at the time.
However, he decided he was interested in me. (Sometimes I still don't know why) He turned his life around, literally in a couple of weeks, started coming to my church, got saved, got baptised, got honest, and began vying for my attention.
He got it. He even took the "By the way, if you ever touch my daughter in an untoward way I will kill you" death threat from me in stride.
He now has a steady job where he has been one of the company's top performers in his area for the last year. He has been a real dad to my daughter, who is now 8. And he is one of the best things God has ever brought into my life.
That being said, this Greg fellow reminds me much of him. Now, I am a homeschooling mom, and the t.v. doesn't go on much. Even if it did, the content on many shows is too adult when my daughter is around. However, I have caught his show twice since, and I still appreciate his candor and I see compassion in him. I would hate to see him go.

I thought that the Greg Behrendt show was good. I thought he helped his guests a lot. I don't think he's creepy--he's just not the typical talk show host in a three-piece suit. He liked wearing jeans and edgy clothes on his show. I thought he was getting better at the host. With Greg's show's cancelled, I have to ask this. Is daytime having a hard time finding long running hits? It seems that some very good shows get cancelled after one season. Used to be that everything stayed on for 5 to 10 years or more; not anymore. I like Oprah, but what about the audiences that quit watching her for 20 years to watch something else? I wanted Greg to be on for 5 years or more; there is an audience for this kind of show. He was funny and different, and I'll miss seeing his show. To Steve Wilkos, I wish him well, but don't be riding on Jerry Springer's coattails too much.

I will be 57 years old next month, really enjoy the Greg Behrendt show and am VERY disappointed he is being taken off the air. In fact, I've watched the Oprah and Dr. Phil shows ever since they both came on, through TiVo now, and end up watching Greg's show before either one of theirs. I think he's refreshing and totally on the money regarding relationships. He is down to earth and explains in a very direct manner, to all women, the way men feel, think and act, which is valuable to ALL of us. I will miss him and his show because Greg is a person whose views we've needed to hear for a very long time.

Scrapping the Greg Behrendt Show in favor of a show hosted by a Jerry Spring bouncer!? I guess TV really is worse than I imagined; thank God I only pay for 30 channels; I cringe to think about what happens on those hundreds of channels I'm "missing." And in response to an above comment, I had no problems spelling Greg's name when Googling, and I'm not quite sure what his name has to do with anything anyway! Ever heard of Oprah? Pretty sure her name hasn't adversely affected the success of her talk show...

When Greg was on Oprah he came across as someone who cared about women. Greg said over and over, "That he is not that into you", which was said to help women to move forward, and hold their head high. This book represented a tool to help women to see the manipulations, the games that men play. It represented to me as a man and a husband that if I was into my wife, I wouldnt do the things I have done that hurts her.
The goal of his show should have been to follow his book and through TV show all men on how to have a healthy and rewarding relationship with women.
Greg's show was to be a power house of truths to help men to be a better partner, and women not to stay one moment in a bad relationship.
The outcome of the show could have helped men world wide change and stop being our fathers, make marriges last, make new relationships really meaningful.
Instead Gregs show resembles a Jerry Springer format, Gregs show humilates women, exposes pain, friends that lie, men that want to live their life like a women. Greg how sick can you be, if you really claim to care about women, how can you bring women out on your stage, and hurt them, every single day.. Greg really is sick, and his book, made him look like he really got it, and cared about women, the truth is he really hates women, his show made women look weak, powerless over just about every situation, and his audience claps. Today Gregs show will be cancelled from our TV, and I am glad his show is going to cancelled soon.
