Isaiah Washington sure is involved in a lot of extra-curricular activities lately, thanks to his unstoppable mouth. He's working hard to save his job as Dr. Burke on Grey's Anatomy, after pissing off co-workers and offending gays everywhere with his derogatory comments about co-star T.R. Knight. After visiting with gay activists last week and agreeing to be in PSAs (public service announcements), today he announced that he has entered counseling to deal with his

The answer to everything these days - go to rehab. Rehab won't make him any less stupid or bigoted. He'll just be more aware of how bigoted and stupid he is.
Smart homophobes don't use the F word at a press conference.
This is just a slap in the face of the addicts and alcoholics that really need rehab to save their lives.

He's seeing a shrink. NOT GOING TO REHAB. get it right. Not liking one gay guy doesn't make you a homophobe. If that was the case everyone in the world would be full of either homophobic, racist,or narcissistic people wo think just because they haven't been caught saying a derogatory term they're better than IW.

What a joke this whole thing is. Political correctness run amock.
It reminds me of the great Rescue Me episode where the entire firehouse is forced to go to sensitivity training because one of the fireman called a female firefighter a tw*t.

It pretty much speaks for itself.

Okay, another Mel Gibson/Michael Richards bigot - Isaiah was an NOTHING actor playing bit parts before Grey's Anatomy. Anyone that is a bigot/racist is mentally ill, so he has the right idea by seeing a shrink!

I cannot believe he is letting people tell him what to do, if I was him I would've apologized to his co workers and let it be. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions...remember "Freedom of Speech?"

If I were him, I'd have the balls to stand by what I said. Public opinion be damned. He should have admitted he said it and dropped the subject right there.
Besides, we all know the only reason he's sorry is because of the supposed chance he may lose his job over it. What good is an empty apology?

as i have said before, his issues are deeper than bigotry, and the "faggot" comment he made would have been forgiven if not for his overall attitude.
it's common for minorities to suffer from an inferiority complex, which makes them act out against other minorities or even their own kind.
blacks using the N-word whilst referring to each other, is an example of this.

Grey's Anatomy happens to actually be a very diverse show. There are African-Americans, Caucasians, Asians, and Hispanics. People depicted in high positions are both black and white, male and female. (Please don't bring up the chief. Yes, the chief is male. But, I'm sure if there could've been 2 chief's, they would've made the second one female.) The point is, this is a very diverse show and should be applauded for being so. It's a shame that Isaiah's comment may have shown that the appropriate response to this diversity is "so what? nothing's changed."

I dont know what the big deal is. Characters say bitch and ass and all kinds of slurs all over tv. "Faggot" is not that horrific of a slur. I dont get why this instance is important at all. He's an actor, not a politian. The majority of what this guy will ever utter is scripted. This is utterly unimportant.

To think that Isaiah Washington , may lose his job over using the "f" word is ludicrious. If I had a dime for every time I heard a woman referred to as a "whore, slut, bitch, tramp, etc etc" I would be a milliomaire. No one ever apologizes for those comments and I, being a woman, hate hearing a woman being referred to as "SLUT" We all have to watch what we say and we all say what we shouldn't at some time or other and if I. Washington was an actor, he would not be hauled up on the carpet for his remarks, but he is no differnet than the rest of us and maybe we should all go to rehab or whatever. We are what we are and being human, we make mistakes.
