The List vs The Nukes.
The indestructible cheerleader vs the counter terrorism agent who, the last time we saw him, was in a crumpled, crying heap on someone's front lawn.
Which program will prevail when they go head to head tonight at 9 p.m.?
TV Guide is reporting that Heroes creators hope that by developing the right kind of buzz via catchphrases ("Are you on the list?") they can help the rookie show take down Jack Bauer, now in his sixth season.
The Boston Globe's TV critic Matthew Gilbert says that, if he had to choose between Heroes and 24, it'd be Heroes because he says it's "much fresher and more original than 24 which is exciting and addictive but . . . come on, 24 is pretty formulaic at this point."
What?? Jack's now a broken man. He killed Curtis, though there are some who've posted comments who are holding out hope that Curtis was faking his death to convince the "good" terrorist that Jack was on his side. (Sorry to break it to those very hopeful fans, but I think Curtis is dead.) We've never seen Jack this dispirited.
So, before the ratings come in I want to know which program you think will prevail, the one featuring old fashioned good guys vs bad guys, or the one with old fashioned comic book superheroes vs powerful villains?
By the way, for those who are fans of both shows ( *I'm raising my hand* ), you could opt to watch CTUers live and then wait for the new episode of Heroes to air on Friday night on the Sci-Fi channel. Or you can just figure out how to use your TiVo or DVR correctly, like this newspaper reporter says he needs to do.

NBC has been showing Heroes on their website the day after it premieres. So for those of us without Tivo, it's watch 24 & watch Heroes online the day after.

I've read that Sci-fi will only be airing Heroes for the next two episodes (1/22 & 1/29 to be aired 1/26 & 2/2). Can anyone confirm this? I may need to upgrade my TiVo in a few weeks.

I'm lucky since here in Canada GlobalTV owns the rights for both shows. So we get Heroes at 9 and 24 at 10! I don't have to choose!
But before i knew that Global was gonna air both of them i had picked 24 to watch and download Heroes the next day. Since i don't have a DVR.
So tonight on Global there Prison Break at 8, Heroes at 9 and 24 at 10. Wow what a great night of TV! Can't wait! :)

Easy, this is why God created dual tuner DVR. Shows are on when I say they are on!

I'll be DVRing both of these, while I watch the previously DVRd Prison Break. I don't know why anyone still watches live TV.

I've steered clear of the crazed following of 24, so I'm with Heroes all the way. Less action, maybe, but more plot and interesting storylines.

I'll be watching 24 live and then watch the DVRed Heroes right after that. The only reason I'll be on 24 first is because my gf likes to watch that one as well.

All good suggestions, like most I will watch 24 and DVR Heroes.
However, I am now considering moving to Canada.

has NBC said decidedly whether or not they'll be supporting the show online for the remainder of the season? it's so handy being able to catch up online, even with a little commercial to bother with.

I record both, but I'll watch 24 live and Heroes later. I can wait to find out what happens on Heroes -- heck, I've waited through all the repeats, haven't I? Besides 24 is my major obsession. As much as I love Heroes, it has to take second.

Heroes doesn't make my list. I record 24 on one tuner; Rome on the other. I like NBC but they're foolish for trying to compete on such a hot time slot.
