CBS has unveiled the lineup for The Amazing Race 11, which will be an all-stars edition. On the list are, of course, love-to-hate-'em villains Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich, who came in second on season 7.
Fans have been wondering how the producers would pick the teams. In USA Today, executive producer Bertram Van Munster said, "They're not necessarily the winners, but character-wise, they're all-stars in our book."
And Van Munster promised this Race will be super-tough, with "curveball after curveball," since the teams have all been there, done that.
Also racing will be:
- Kevin O'Connor and Drew Feinberg (season 1)
- Joe Baldassare and Bill Bartek (season 1)
- Ozwald Mendez and Danilo Jimenez (Danny) (season 2)
- John Vito Pietanza and Jill Aquilino (season 3)
- Teri Pollack and Ian Pollack (season 3)
- Charla Baklayan Faddoul and Mirna Hindoyan (season 5)
- Uchenna Agu and Joyce Agu (season 7)
- Eric Sanchez and Danielle Turner (Dee) (season 9, on separate teams)
- David Conley, Jr. and Mary Conley (season 10)
- Dustin Seltzer and Kandice Pelletier (season 10)
Only one team won their season (Uchenna & Joyce), and the pairing of Eric and Danielle, who are dating, is intriguing.
I'm totally psyched about seeing Kevin & Drew, Team Guido (Joe & Bill), Cha Cha Cha (Oswald & Danny) and Kentucky (David & Mary). But only 11 teams? Couldn't they have fit in the Clowns (season 4) and lovey-dovey couple Kris & Jon (season 6)?

I was waiting for this annoucement for such a long time ! But i am disappointed by the low number: this all stars season would have been the perfect occasion to make it last longer with 4 more teams...
Charla and Mirna ?! Oh my, we are going to die sooner than i thought.
I would have loved to see Flo and Zach, winners in season 3. And count how many times she would have quited the game only to be brought back on track by Zach.

Oh for the love of Phil, where in the hell are KRIS AND JON on that list? WHERE????
I don't give a hoot about Danielle (who are you?) and Eric (receding hairline-balding Eric, I remember him). Bring back Kris and Jon, the nicest competitors, who were actually good at racing and who lost to the biggest a-holes on the history of the race, Freddy and Kendra.

I'm surprised to see as many of the teams I like on the list. Usually people I liked never get picked. Of all the teams (at least not counting winners, so no hippies), my #1 pick would have been Kevin and Drew for this, so I'm really happy about that. I'm also glad to see Kentucky and Dustin and Kandice too, though that'd have to be kinda rough doing two races back-to-back.

It's worth noting that not only are there are no teams from Season 8 there (the Family Edition) but none from Season 4 or Season 6. That means that some of my personal favourite teams - Tian & Jaree, Jon & Al, Loris & Bolo, and Gus & Hera - aren't there while we get two teams from Season 10. Oh well, everybody has teams they'd rather see on the show instead of the teams that were included, and this is a rather good group.

Absolutely Lori! Kris & Jon totally earned another shot at it, and think how much fun it would have been to root for them vs Rob & Amber!
*Sigh*

Teri and Ian were plucky but more lucky during the season they were on and were fortunate to finish as high as they did. Would have rather have seen the Clowns than Rob and Amber yet again. There are a few teams which were eliminated early during the years which could have done a nice job given different circumstances but it seems that you had to be on the show for at least a few weeks to get the second chance.

I guess the producers are determined to forget (and hope we forget) that season eight -- the horrible "family edition" -- ever happened. And I fully support them in that endeavor.
Well, sort of. At first I thought it might be problematic since the teams were families instead of twosomes, but how hard would it have been to get two of the adult players from one of the family teams on there?

Yes I think the producers do want us to forget the Family Edition - some of the families want to also; mainly the ones who wanted to go around the world and didn't even go around the continent. The question is, since most of the teams were made up of four adults, which ones do you take? It's easy for the Gaghans, but which two Godlewski sisters or which of the Linzes?

Amazing Race is by far my favorite show on TV. However, I am not sure I will watch this upcoming season. I have no problem with the idea of an all-star race, but if I have to watch Rob and Amber one more time I may vomit. They ruined my second favorite TV show, Survivor, for me. I hated them the last time they were on Amazing Race and now again? Really! Have they slipped out of their spotlight and need some more ego stroking or what? Did they already waste their million bucks and need more money? How many times are they going to be competeing on these reality shows? Enough already!

I'm excited to watch the new season. The one team I'm disappointed not to see on the list are the Hippies, winners of season 9. They were such characters, and had such a wonderful attitude about life. What's really going to be fun to watch is the clash of characters this season. Rob and Amber are fun to watch, and I think it's safe to say that at least half of the other teams are going to be out to get them -- that's going to be a dynamic that's amplified this season -- who's out to hinder who.

Really big disapointment that Kris and Jon are not on there, lots more deserving then some of those teams on there like Rob and Amber oh please AGAIN?? Bit disapointing that the first 2 winners of amazing race were unavailible for the filming this is most likely why there is a very disapointing collection of teams if Charla and Mirna get eliminated i probably won't bother with contining to watch.

I agree with Erin Carpenter. Where the heck are the Hippies!!! By far my favorite team to date and better to watch that Rob and Amber. I hope this will be the last of them and I hope they go out early.

There's no way to pick every great team, so all in all I say good picks. You have to have teams to hate and love. My question if there is an answer, What happened to everyone who applied for season 11? Are they being considered for season 12?
