Glad to see Hugh Laurie win... I love hearing his real British accent, as well.
(By the way 'Best Actor/Actress in a Television Series' should have a qualifier on it for if it were a drama, musical, or comedy series)

Have the updates fallen behind a bit? There is stuff on CNN which was up at least 20mins ago, but not on here. Is there anywhere else to see this live?

The Golden Globes are for both movies and television, probably wouldn't make a lot of sense for TV Squad to cover the non-television stuff, though.

Garrr, i do dislike the golden globes oh so very much and theyre horrible choosing of winners (zach braff and michael CHall are much better than 'House' and Alec Baldwin>.>my opinion of course). But worse, i hate when after this every ad on television for a show or movie will now include either 'Has been nominated' or 'Won a Golden Globe', when people should seriously have enough sense to know they suck horribly...

Alec Baldwin! Although I would have been happy with anyone but Shalhoub.
But Ugly Betty? Seriously? The Office, Entourage and Weeds are all better shows.

Entertainment Weekly pointed out that quite a few of the countries that voted have their own version of Ugly Betty, so that may have influenced the results.

Ugly Betty! God this has to be worse than DH. The show is the "ugly swan" story done 1,000,000,000,000 times. Michael C. Hall should have won for Dexter.
Of course the whole thing shown be thrown out considering they even nominated Sarah Paulson aka The Blonde Bitch from Studio 60. She is the worst charater / casting / "acting" on TV right now! She's terrible to such a degree that most everyone on the planet hates her and hates the show even more because of her!
Have I said I hate her?!

I really only agree with one of those wins (Alec Baldwin). And I guess Kyra Sedgewick, but that's just because I don't really care who got that (as long as it wasn't Ellen Pompeo).
Michael C. Hall, Justin Kirk, Mary Louise Parker, Liz Perkins, Weeds, and Lost are what I would've gone with.
The others didn't matter to me, except I'd give it to Mirren for Prime Suspect, since I've actually seen some of that before. :)

LMAO!! Erm...if that were the case, wouldn't they be voting for THEIR OWN country's (-ies') versions, then?! Not the American rendition, which has only an ephemeral connection to the previous Bettys...?!
That's akin to saying all the Brits voted for the American version of The Office because it was a British show first; even when the American version of a British show *doesn't* suck (such as The Office), basic human nature still dictates that your preference will usually be for your country's original version--NOT the latest American attempt to replicate an overseas success.
Hence I'd guess that the Colombian members of the Foreign Press--if any--wouldn't vote for Ugly Betty because 'the franchise' began in their country with 'Yo soy Betty, la fea' in 1999; similarly, Mexican members of the Foreign Press would abstain because of Televisa's 'La fea más bella'--which began in 2006, and also is what I'll be watching instead of the Golden Globes, btw. (I'll just catch the post-game report on ET, provided they've cut away from their 24/7 Anna Nicole coverage.)
But just one little rant re: xenophobic Anglo tunnel vision in the Golden Globes voting: do they EVER nominate any foreign tv series? (No, imports from the BBC do NOT count as "foreign," no matter what those in the Red States may tell you.) I know, I know, most Americans don't watch tv that's not in English, but still, that omission makes esta gringa muy triste. (I mean, puhlease--"FOREIGN" Press, my ass! ;)

I thought it was an American award show. Are foreign films allowed to be nominated (outside of foreign film category)?
It's the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The Hollywood implies focus on Hollywood, while The "Foreign Press" refers to the actual journalists (who may or may not be in America), right? If this is so, wouldn't it be stupid to give awards to shows and movies not produced in America? Though I wonder why they would give awards to imports and have a 'foreign film' category if that was true.

So, despite some disappointments about who won what (MCH should have won Dexter, for example. Now, he will be nominated next year and might win, but he won me/us over in the first season, so he should win in the first season, no? I love Laurie, though, don't get me wrong t'all). Anyways, I LOVE that Ugly Betty won. Ferrera is so subtle in her acting and comedic timing that one might not catch how much work she has to put into the role, but I am glad these Hollywood Foreign Press noticed. But most of all, the show deserved to win (I didn't think they were going to) because that whole cast is fabulous together. Everybody's acting is superbly ridiculous and soap-operaish and still human at the same time. And I love when stars don't take themselves too seriously. Look at how happy they all were when their show was called. The whole lot of them were squealing and hugging. It was a awwww moment. I am glad they were rewarded.

The Globes have a habit of giving acting awards to newer shows (Jason Bateman, Ian McShane, Teri Hatcher, Jennifer Garner, Mary Louise Parker) and now America Ferrara, but why give Hugh Laurie another one especially after he won last year? I was expecting MCH to win especially after his stellar work. I guess the show is not popular enough right now (as evidenced by the little applause he got).
And Grey's Anatomy as Best Drama? Bah. Well at least Sacha Baron Cohen won (what an acceptance speech!).

Yup, Michael C. Hall and Zach Braff should have won, imo. Alec Baldwin would have been my second choice.
Oh well.

I think Hugh Laurie is deserving of the award this year, especially because House has been through some tough times since the last Golden Globes. I'm just worried that Jack's current screwed-up state of mind will mean he gets the globe next year instead of Michael C. Hall, who should blow next season out of the water.

I agree with Joe 122%. It's not to say that MCH wasn;t brilliant on Dexter, but I do think people had a hard time shaking off Six Feet Under. (It took me an episode or two to so it.)
