(S06E05) Let's get right to it. Here was the funniest part of this week's episode:
Turk is extremely worried about Carla's postpartum depression so he goes to Dr. Cox for advice. Perry tells Turk that the only person who can help Carla right now is someone else who had the same illness. So, he makes a call to the missus. In walks a extremely angry, third-trimester pregnant Jordan to the melodious notes of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely". She pushes through hospital staff like a linebacker through offensive tacklers, stuffs some form of cake into her mouth (that she grabbed from another employees) and screeches 'What?' to Perry and Turk while food flies from her mouth.
That was the funniest scene. The rest? Meh.
I don't quite know what's going on with this show lately. I remember that there were many more hits on Scrubs last season then there were misses. This year I think it's about even. It's like last year they went whole hog because they didn't know the future of the show. This year it seems that they're relaxing just a bit. That's not good because a lot of signs point to this possibly being the last season of the show. Zach Braff mentioning that this may be the last season he is on is one of those signs.
Let's take an example of one of those subplots they seem to be relaxing on: the hospital's new luxury suite that Cox and Janitor commandeered. I really don't know where this one was supposed to go. Was it part of the whole theme of money that was mentioned in the title? Was it an Odd Couple thing? It felt like it was thrown in to balance the two other subplots that weren't as funny. If they took it out of this week's show it would not have been missed.
I did enjoy the two other subplots this week, particularly the one dealing with Carla's postpartum depression. It actually made be a bit sad seeing Carla that way. She has always been the strong one and she was portrayed this week as being a total mess. By the way, I guess that Cox didn't figure out Carla's condition at the end of last week's episode because it seems that it was never mentioned to Turk. While the condition was played for laughs I thought the way Carla portrayed her condition wasn't too overdone. I've heard of plenty of instances where postpartum Moms will leave their child in another person's care because they can't handle it anymore.
I also liked the continuing plot of Elliot joining a private practice. The dynamic has really changed at Sacred Heart now as Dr. Reid can now give orders to Perry and makes more money than J.D. Both Perry and dear Dr. Dorian are both a little green with envy at Elliot's new role. I wonder how it will all play out as the season progresses. I would be disappointed if Elliot decided to go back to being a hospital doctor.
I'll cut it short this week, and save my energy for next week's musical episode of Scrubs. Enjoy the holiday weekend.

There were quite a few funny scenes:
- J.D taking pictures of Keith. Then his fight with Keith: "Does that come in hetero?"
-Turk's dance: "We are the turks!" I love the way Donald Faison dances.
-"That's what we call a Coxian".
-The janitor almost making Cox take in a cyanide pill.
Btw, the ad for the musical was great. J.D + Turk = "Jurk". Awesome.

Since the majority of feeling is that this is the final season, they should just go "Arrested Development" and really completely let loose with the gags. I really enjoyed the Janitor-Cox business. We need more like that.

The scene that threw this whole episode for me was JD imagining the apartment with trampoline flooring. Isn't there a beer commercial with this exact same theme?? (I think they refer to it as "rubber flooring" in the commerical). From then on I found myself trying to figure out who ripped off whom, or whether this was all just a weird coincidence.

Rich, you are beggining to sound like one of those people who always complains that the Simpsons was funnier in its early days. True, I think we were all a little spoiled at the greatness that was season five, but this is as good as seasons two or three, which I now watch repeatedly on Comedy Central
(Side note: Is anyone else as bothered by the scenes that they cut out? Its probably for the sake of adding more commercials, and it is aggravating. I specifically remember certain scenese which are now gone, and I don't want to spring for the DVD set just to watch them.)
I believe this week has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments: Carla 'working' at the Gap, Seven-car pileup, boobie juice, the little Jewish kid asking Turk for Marvin Gaye CDs just because he's black, Mocha cub, the Janitor sealing up the luxary suite, requiring Cox to scale the hospital with a grappling hook, Janitor eating poppuri, A return of Kelso going "boggity-boogity," and of course "Does that come in hetero?" Don't even get me started on Elliot discussing the singlet's use in their role-playing. Or J.D. taking pics of Keiths body, including at the bus station. I'll stop there, before I list every single joke from this week's episode.

just when scrubs makes it to Thursdays at nine, it has it's lamest season ever. It's a shame, because with the new high-profile slot, more people are watching it for the first time and saying "this carla stuff depresses me, I thought I heard this show was hilarious".
Even JD is a bit off. Bill Lawrence, go back to last year's dynamite formula. It was great.

I thought this was the best episode of the season, it was very good - there seemed to be more imagination scenes, which were very funny, and I liked the story between Cox and Janitor - Turk was hillarious when Carla said she wanted to throw the baby off the roof!

Re: the rubber floor. That's a Bud Light ad, and it appeared that JD was holding a Budweiser. Coincidence or homage?

I am not sure how much I like Elliot's private doctor mode. I guess it's character development, but her frazzled character was a great extreme to Cox, with JD riding the middle ground. I think Turk is consistantly good this year, and specifically in this episode. I sure would like to see more of JD's girlfriend. She was a great addition.
