I was watching comedian Kathy Griffin on Larry King Live a few weeks ago, and I remember thinking, why is she on this show? Beyond the publicity, why is she on the show of someone she would usually dump on or say funny, nasty things about? And yes, I'm aware that's a terrible sentence, but you can see my point. Larry King seems like someone Griffin would insult or pick on, not appear on his show.
But now comes word that Griffin dumped on King an interview at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center last week. She says that King is either deaf or doesn't listen:
"[King] doesn't listen to a word you say. It's unbelievable. After a while, I just wanted to $%^& with him and try to say something shocking. Did you hear me say that Oprah would be the first gay President? And he's like, 'she has a show, am I right?' "
What's funny about this is that during her interview with King, they talked about all of the talk shows that she's not allowed on anymore. You can now probably add Larry King Live to that list.

I think Kathy Griffin's comedy is great. I love her stand up. I also love her reality show on Bravo. You're right, she's been banned from The View, Letterman, and probably alot of other shows. But I doubt that King will ban her from his show. What she said about him wasn't that big of a deal. It's just her act. She did the same type of think when she was on his show. If he does ban her, it'll just be more material for her act.

If you've ever watched Larry King you'd notice he has a tendency to not listen. He did a panel about suicide once and an actor, forget his name, older gentlemen with a bald head, gave a long monologue about how he felt when he was suicidal. When he was done Larry King went to a break in the most unaffected voice you could imagine, as if someone just told him that they like cucumbers.

Re: her being like Tom Cruise...Why? Has Tom Cruise told the truth about Larry King's utter uselessness as an interviewer, too?

I love Kathy Griffin. We moved and the local cable system doesn't have Bravo so I don't get to see D-List anymore. :( The thing that is funny is she's not exaggerating that much. Sure she probably embellishes some, she's a comedian, but the ammunition is there.
Star had her banned on The View so I bet Rosie and Joy will get her back on the show. As fellow comedians, they would get it.

This would be newsworthy if it weren't for the fact that Kathy Griffin's act IS dumping on celebrities, even those with whom she may be friendly; that's what she does -- and in good humor (depending on how you take it, though, which often depends on how familiar you are with her brand of humor).

She's not. Isn't she married, as a matter of fact?

I USED TO LIKE KATHY GRIFFIN, BUT SHE BETTER PICK AND CHOOSE VERY CAREFULLY WHO SHE DOGS ON BECAUSE HER CAREER IS DEPENDANT ON A FAN BASE THATS GETTING VERY THIN, WHICH, BY THE WAY, SHE LAUGHS AT ON HER WAY TO THE BANK.
I HAVE A FEELING WE'LL BE SEEING MORE KATHY GRIFFIN
E-BAY AUCTIONS IN THE FUTURE.

Kathy WAS married. Her husband Matt embezzled money from her. She tried to get over it, but the trust was gone. And who can blame her. I lost 27 cents at the Arbry's drive thru and I'm still thinking about.
