I figured since I honored Elvis yesterday I might as well also pay homage to Groucho Marx. You may wonder what these two people have in common, and the answer is: absolutely nothing. However, they both died within three days of one another, and news of Elvis' death overshadowed Groucho's in many respects. Also, I just happen to be a big Marx Brothers fan. Their movies are still as funny today as when they were first released, proving that the best comedy never goes out of style.

YES...used to love watching that show on late-night TV, can't remember which network it was, but they ran it for quite awhile. Groucho's humor was so pointed and smooth, he made ordinary people look good on TV while having a great time. I think only Bob Barker's managed to be his equal at that, although Barker doesn't get to be as funny as Grouch was.

I used to watch the re-runs of this show all the time when I was in college; Groucho's performance on this show can't be beat. I can't imagine why anyone would try a remake, since it would pale in comparison to the original. But watching this clip, I found myself asking if the 2nd female contestant might be Britney Spears grandmother?
