Are those gift cards, dollar bills, and checks from Grandma burning a white-hot hole in your pocket? Don't know what to spend it on? Well, we're here with some helpful suggestions. Chances are, if you're anything like me, you're obsessed with ABC's Lost. You live and breathe by Locke's philosophies, wish you had Jack's lightning-like focus, and Walt's wacky telekinetic powers, whatever the heck they are. You envy Sawyer's hair and Kate's ability to look like she just stepped out of a beauty salon, even after many days marooned on an island. You've got the secret numbers memorized, and play them in the lottery every chance you get.Face it, you're a Lostie. You crave Lost updates like an addict needs his daily fix. Your DVR is full of episodes, you have the DVD sets, and Wednesday nights are sacred territory in your home. So what better to spend your loot on than some Lost items that aren't episodes of the show? That's right, nothing. Check out these items, and go blow everything you've got in your holiday cash hoard on them. You'll now be able to proudly display your newfound Lost loot at work, home, and school.
The good news is, you're not alone. There are tons of other Losties out there, and they have created a huge amount of items you can buy, besides the plethora of stuff available for purchase at ABC's Lost store. They have everything you can imagine: t-shirts, mugs, posters, puzzles, board games, and action figures. Yes, action figures. We'll save those for the end. Click the images to get linked straight to the place to drop your dough.
This 24" by 36" poster could of Jack could be gracing your walls, if the price is right. At $24.99 it just might be, and you can have it framed, mounted, or just go commando with pushpins. These were promo posters that, if memory serves, featured the primary cast members before the show came out, but they've only got Jack, Kate, and Charlie left. MovieGoods.com carries this, although with a raft-load of other Lost items.
Did you get a shiny new Nintendo Wii this season? Are you tired of staring and its white plastic exterior? Now you can wrap that sucker with a sleek, black, Dharma Initiative skin that'll have folks thinking you know something they don't. Either that, or you can slowly convince yourself that you're down in the Hatch. DecalGirl.com serves this up for you with matching skins for your controllers, and even has a whole slew of Dharma skins for everything from iPods to laptops. Pretty swanky.
4815162342.com has set up a CafePress store, meaning they can print their Lost-isms on everything from hoodies to thongs. My personal favorite is probably this Dharma-Cola t-shirt, but they have everything from a "Fisherman Jin" sign to a bizarre "Yes, I realize I have some Arzt on me" quote as designs. If you want to clad yourself in all things Lost, then you need to stop by here and pick out your fave.
If you really want to get geeky (and remember, we haven't hit the action figures yet) then you should pick up a Dharma Initiative journal. Remember the episode where they entered the other hatch, and found these composition books? Now you can write in your very own. A good place to chart your conspiracy theories and episode tidbits. Available at ABC's Lost store.
In case you want to get jiggy with it, there are a series of four different Lost jigsaw puzzles that you can spread out across the dining room table. In fact, put these together while you watch the show, since they offer clues and hints about the things. You never know where you'll find the elusive secret to the black smoke, or Hurley's inability to lose weight. Yes, I know he'd been sneaking the Dharma food, but come on. Get the whole series at Amazon.com, but my fave is this one about The Others because they're puzzling. Get it? Er, ah ... yeah. Moving on.
If you work in an office with either five or fifty other people, then you know that one of the tiny ways to show off your own personality in cubicle-land is to have a special coffee mug. Some people opt for kittens, others have cityscapes, but yours can tout your love for Lost. As an added bonus, this mug also keeps your coffee hot, and features ghostly representations of timer in the Hatch that fade away once your hot beverage has chilled, or if it has vanished altogether. A color changing ghostly mug? Sounds worthy of the Island to me. Also from the ABC Lost store.
If you're watched so much of the show that now you want to live in it, then you need to get yourself the official Lost board game. You really know your show has made the bigtime when you've got a boardgame. Remember the Dukes of Hazzard and Charlie's Angels games? Check the shelves in your basement, or maybe the attic. Available from boardgamegeek.com, which also carries the Lost card game.
Okay, we're finally here. Lost has something going for it that few television shows ever get -- action figures. Although they should be called in-action figures, because you can't pose them that much, and Jack doesn't have a kung-fu grip, but they do come with accessories (Charlie comes with a lifesize Drive Shaft ring!), detailed stands with photos from the show, and they sure look nifty on display. Best of all, they include sound chips and say actual lines from the show ("You all everybody!"). Check out the tape on Charlie's fingers, he's writing 'fate' from the pilot episode, and you'll see for yourself how detailed these figures are. You even get a retro-Lost dose of Shannon with her figure, all back from the dead (she comes in her bikini and with a beach towel stand, which seems like an odd choice. No Michael? No Sawyer in this set?). Granted, this is just Series 1 so far, and Series 2 will be coming down the pipeline later this year and includes Sawyer, Jin, Sun, and Mr. Eko. Available from Amazon.com or probably your local comic book shop.
Just when you thought there couldn't be anything more, the Island manages to surprise you. From the same makers that brought you the Lost action figures comes the Lost Hatch playset. Now this is the crowning jewel for any Lost fanatic. It is a miniature representation of the hatch just after it was blown open, features Locke, Jack, Kate and Hurley peering into the hole, and it lights up! Pretty soon you can just recreate the show on your own with the figures and these mini-sets, so pick up this first one and get your cameras rolling. Also available from Amazon.com or a comic shop near you.
If you're still not satisfied, there is a whole slew of Lost material out there on the internet, so whip out the gift cards, the spending cash, or go deeper into debt and make sure you have all the Lost loot you need to survive. At least, until the next episode airs.

Hey, great! That's just what I need to get me to the next round of disappointing episodes, ridiculous plot twists, pointless flashbacks, and story lines that seem interesting at first but end up going nowhere. Thanks!

I got the Locke action figure for Christmas (which is great because it says four different sayings in Terry O'Quinn's voice), and I've got 2 of the 4 puzzles. They are extremely difficult because there is no picture to use as a guide. Yes, I am a total nerd, thanks for asking.

the only thing I really really want is the Nalgene water bottle with the Dhama logo that they found in the hatch

If I wasn't so dissapointed with the current season I would have a Charlie and a Hurley figure sitting on my desk right now. But somehow the dwindling season along with the announcement of both action figures and a video game in one week made me kind of feel like things had jumped the shark.
You know. the shark with the Dharma logo on it.

I gifted all my friends with the "Lost" action figures, thinking I was so clever and unique, considering I was the one who got them all hooked on the show too.
Of course, in turn, they got me the Hatch playset. It is now the nightlight in my room. One night, I sat in the dark with it turned on and played "Make your own Kind of Music" and felt like a true Lostie uber-nerd.

Sorry, but I think all of this is nothing but cheesy useless merch, the action figures especially. I think they should instead have merchandise that is tied to the universe of LOST. Stuff like polo shirts with the Hanso logo on it, an Oceanic plane model, a Geramino Jackson concert tee, etc..

I agree with Scotty. This is a huge bunch of cheesed-out schwag. Funny though that it took 7 comments to get to something remotely negative. You Lost-haters(tm) are disappointing me. Where are you kittens? Have you finally taken my [and hopefully others] advice and shut up about Lost??
