As if you needed a reason to watch Scrubs... tonight's new episode is a spoof on the popular Fox series, House. Without giving too much away, Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) channels Dr. House to figure out two medical mysteries: why a man's skin has turned orange and why a woman without heart problems is suffering from heart failure. He also has a personal mystery to solve involving Elliot Reed's strange behavior. It's called "My House" and I'm not sure whether Dr. Cox will be walking with a cane or not- but I'd surely expect it.This all makes me wish that I've seen House more than once because there will probably be a lot of great inside jokes that will totally fly over my head.
House, by the way, returns with new episodes next Tuesday.

Wow, quite the lame episode. They were so busy trying to make Cox into House that they forgot to make the mysteries actually mysterious. Let me make sure I got it right -- there are *two* women in Carla's room who have just given birth, and someone has been crying, so they'd better check on the other woman for post partum depression, because it could be serious? And no one thinks to check on Carla, just because she said "It wasn't me"? Not especially funny or creative ("Let's drop something on his foot so he limps!"), and in general rather depressing and mean spirited.
Much funnier when they sneak in a reference from left field, like in "My New Suit" where Kelso told Cox, "Oh Perry, you're so edgy and cantankerous, you're like House without the limp."

I thought it was hillarious myself. I started giggling from the start where Cox got the "stare".

The writers of Scrubs have always resented the success of House, they see him as a copy of Dr. Cox, an ascerbic misanthrope. They refer to House in an earlier episode and make this very clear.
But Dr. Cox only pretends to not care, he is a phony, he always ends up getting sentimental and sappy, so the audience will like him.
Dr. House is the real deal, he genuinely doesn't care about other people or what they think. He is far more genuine than Dr. Cox, who is just a jerk to mask his own insecurity.

How Hilarious that last night's House used the illness (Broken Heart Syndrom) that SCRUBS used last week?
and Jose, Scrubs is a comedy that some times dabbles in dramatic elements. House is a drama (sometimes melodrama) that sometimes is funny. You can't really compare the character traits across genres that easily.
And thirdly, Even House has been shown to have his decent moments - mostly in private. I will disagree that he isn't covering his issues by being a jerk.

Wow...I don't know what to think about this one. I LOVE House, and I LOVE Scrubs. They're the only medically-themed shows I watch (definitely beats laughing at Grey's Anatomy). The intersection of my two favorite shows? Must-see TV for me tonight! =D
