Or, a better question would be: are you watching any television? Christmas Day can be a busy time, what with gifts being opened, dinners being cooked (and eaten) and annoying relatives to entertain (this does not pertain to Joel, who is coming down to visit today). For others, though, Christmas ends at the last present that's unwrapped, which can lead to a very long, boring day.
So, if you can't take the kids, the wife, or the annoying relatives (once again, not Joel, I swear) you can tune into the annual broadcast of the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade (filmed at the beginning of December) hosted by Regis Philbin, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest and featuring Beyonce, the cast of High School Musical and the Doodlebops. If that's too much Christmas then you may want to tune into CNN for a, ready, Larry King Live marathon. Other non-Christmas marathons are Crossing Jordan on A&E, My Super Sweet 16 on MTV (they played music videos once, didn't they?), In Living Color on BET, and Super Millionaire on GSN.
Of course, if you are still in the holiday spirit (or, in the holiday spirits, if you know what I mean) TBS airs their annual 24-hour marathon of the classic holiday movie A Christmas Story, while networks like Hallmark and Lifetime will air a variety of made-for-TV holiday movies. Then again, if none of this is of interest you can always pop in a DVD from the complete The West Wing set that you received.
Oh, and Joel, dinner is at 2:00 pm.

I thought the Disney Christmas parade was just a two hour promotional video for everything Disney. I bet old Walt would be suprised but disappointed.

Dennis- walt was nothing if not the consumate promoter. Disney Land only exists because of funding provided by ABC to play the "Disneyland" TV show in the early 1950s.
I think very little of the corporate "evil" that Disney engages in would disappoint or surprise the man who threw lemmings off a cliff to make a nature special.

When I got home from work, I put on the WPIX Yule Log for background accompaniment while I wrapped presents for the first of my delayed Christmases on Wednesday. (The second one will be Jan. 3rd up in Connecticut.)
In the afternoon, I watched 'March Of The Wooden Soldiers' with Laurel and Hardy, which led right into 'The Christmas Invasion' on Sci-Fi, David Tennant's first full-length adventure in 'Doctor Who'.
Tonight I'll be taping 'Casino Royale' and 'The Eleventh Hour' on BBC America to watch tomorrow afternoon.
So that's my Christmas line-up.

I finally made the time to start watching the "Babylon 5" Season 1 DVD set. It's been over 10 years since I saw some of these episodes (and at least 2 years since I bought the set!).
Although Season 1 is definitely rougher than seasons 2-5, it still holds up pretty well. I'm amazed at how many story elements were introduced in these first shows, and many wouldn't be resolved for 3-4 years! Despite some wooden acting in the early shows, and some effects that look a bit dated, I am still impressed at how many of the episodes treated viewers like adults instead of children, especially within the confines of early 1990's syndicated television.
I've made it through the first 10 in this 3-day weekend. I hope to finish Season 1 by the end of New Year's. (That'll just leave the Season 2-5 DVDs!) I know there are people who watch entire TV seasons in 2-day marathons, but I like to eat, sleep, and breathe, too.

G'Day,
Does the picture shown have anything to do with any of the shows discussed? Which one? I'm from the other side of the globe so some of the names listed are unfamiliar.
