Kimberly DozierIt's been six months since CBS News correspondent Kimberly Dozier was severely injured in an Iraqi car bomb attack that killed soundman James Brolan, cameraman Paul Douglas, an infantry captain and his Iraqi translator. Earlier this week Dozier, who still feels the effects from the severe injuries to her lower body, writes about how the last six months have been for her for CBS News' web site.

She's made a pretty significant recovery, even though her legs still stiffen up on a regular basis. But she's just happy she's alive, recovering with family in New Zealand. While she's grateful for everything the military doctors and hospitals did for her after the attack, she can't help but wonder what Iraqis who end up suffering similar injuries have to go through: "I see where the shrapnel ripped into their bodies, and think to myself: 'Dear God. Those wounds are like mine. In an Iraqi hospital...they won't survive the night.'" She also reminisces about the past Christmases she'd spend with Douglas and Brolan in Middle Eastern hotspots like Iraq and Palestine. At the end of the article, the adddress for a web site dedicated to the two men is given, where people can see testimonials and have the opportunity to donate to their favorite charities. Defnitely worth a read.
