I think that Katherine McPhee is against all that lip-synching and would rather have the crowd hear her singing. And that's what it should be without all the slick production, guide tracks and so forth. I just saw her new single in the stores this week. I hated that My Destiny song. But she went for the Underdogs and Danja to produce her new songs--sounds like she's into some funky sounds with those names behind her! This makes me ready for her album on January 30th--it might be the first 2007 album I'll get if I hold off that month. I hope it does well.

She is singing a single from her debut cd. Personally, she can sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow 100 million times and I would love it each time.

Preston, did you hear the officially released version of My Destiny or just the one she performed in the live competition? I would agree that the live AI version sucked bigtime but the version that eventually came out as a single was pretty killer (for what it was). I purchased it, d/l it to my iPod and it came up in my shuffled rotation the first time I really 'heard' the song. I thought I might have been listening to a Kelly Clarkson tune I didn't recognize until it sunk in what I was really listening to. Admittedly, the two finale songs are given to the finalists to perform rather than being songs they have hand selected and both of this year's finale renditions left TONS to be desired but honestly, McPhee's finished product left Mr. Hicks in the dust. I'm with you on wanting to see what she does when she's got her own selections and production on her new release. She's ramped up her look and I'm sure her sound as well.

BTW, I also was amazed that Kelli Pickler's new release was as good as it is and that Daughtry sounds so mediocre. I truly expected the reverse to be true. I am far from a C&W fan but I bought about 3/4 of her new CD and have yet to get any of Chris or Taylor's new CDs. Go figure!

Why isn't the Idol winner Taylor Hicks singing at the Rose Bowl. I am not at all interested in Katharine McPhee's music. Give me Taylor Hicks, the winner!!!

I thought she was the best singer anyway. I do hope her career goes well and that she makes the right decisions in her life. A very pretty young lady.

I do not care for McPhee and think her singing leaves a lot to be desired...but lots of people like her and that is ok also..However Lisa Tucker the little 16 year old who was and is probably the best they had will also be singing on a float the Anaheim city float I think so I will be watching the parade and will leave the room when Mc Phee comes on...and yes Kellie did a fine job on her song but still think she should have a sitcom she would be great..

The reason Taylor Hicks isn't singing live is because HE CAN'T. Everything has to be so over-produced to get it right, he'd HAVE to lip-synch. Besides, Katherine's songs are better anyway.

I like Katharine too. In fact, I think she is a much better vocalist than Taylor Hicks. I do believe that Kat should have won. But, like Clay Aiken, maybe it will be better for her in the long run.

By the way, take a quick second and check out Ace Young's single on iTunes. It is fantastic!!! Honestly, he did not really get to show his stuff on AI. America, take a moment and listen to it on iTunes - you will not be disappointed. It sounds a bit like Maroon 5. It is smooth & a bit funky and very catchy.

Give Ace Young a try.

Janice you have got to be kidding!!!! Taylor Hicks should have never won Idol. He is going to end up on "Where are They Now" I do admit that he has talent but not the likes of other Idol winners or Katharine. Maybe you should watch the show a little closer. The winners are not always the best singers.

As for how bad Catherine sounded doing My Destiny during the finals. She had some problems with her throat. With having to sing so much, you end up with singers chords. Seh had to rest her voice tolet her chords heal. So that is why she sounds so much better doing My Destiny afterwards. She does not need all the backup sounds that Taylor Hicks needs to sound good. Kat can pull off doing Accapella any ole time.... Bet Taylor can't.....
