Thanks to My Super Sweet Sixteen, we all now know that no party is complete without a surprise, private performance by a pop idol. Fortunately, the cast of American Idol is more than willing to shill themselves out for your next shindig. Their asking prices, however, range from $300,000 for Kelly Clarkson to $2,000 and change for second season finalist Kimberly Caldwell. The New York Post has kindly given us a run-down of Idol artist fees. Whether you pay $75,000 for Ruben Studdard or $30,000 is going to depend on how well you're connected within the entertainment industry, but is $75,000 too much to ask for your guests to hear "Sorry 2004" live? You can also expect to pay more for an Idol mini-concert versus an Idol meet-and-greet.
As much as I'm tempted to make fun of Justin Guarini's private party fee structure, he makes more for just showing up at a party and waving than I make in a month so, ummmm ... go bleed that bar mitzvah circuit dry, J-Guar.

Jeez, now Fox is pimping out their talent?
I'd gladly pay $2,000 for Kimberly Caldwell to come and party. Is that by the hour or for the full night?

Poor Kimberly, "escorts" make more per night...You need a NEW agent sweetie !! Might want to rethink and "pimp" out a product - endorsement checks & perks can be pretty lucrative. HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!

But, you could also take your party to one of their concerts and pay extra for the back stage meetings.

I would hire Catherine McPhee for the evening. Not because she can sing, because I'm pretty sure we all know that she ca't, but to see what other "talents" she may be good at:)

I like the idea (myself being a huge 'Idol' fan). Only problem is that the people who are any good are insanely expensive.

For some that commented about some of the idols, I hope they could sing better than the ones they "insulted" in their comments.

It did not say, or if it did I missed it, But I wonder how much it would cost for Clay Aiken? I would love to have him at my party and to hear that remarkable voice! He is the only artist whose voice gives me the chills.

Allen's comments about Catherine McPhee are lewd and disgusting! She can sing better than most people out there. You are OBVIOUSLY some fat lonely gross reject who couldn't get a date even if he paid for it!

Cost of having an Idol contender/winner at your party: $1000 to $200,000 ...
Cost of just having Karaoke so your party guests can be the entertainment themselves: PRICELESS !!! (And a lot more fun!)

Well, if I had money, sure, I'd pay good money to hear Ruben Studdard sing at my party. The man has a beautiful voice and there are other songs I would LOVE to hear him sing besides Sorry2004 (which I liked). Paying 300,000 to hear "Since You Been Gone" being yelled at my guests? I don't think so. Kelly's good but 300,000??? Please!
