Kitty's got claws, and she likes to scratch. The first lady of unauthorized biography is back. Kitty Kelley has a new book in the works, and her target this time out is none other than Oprah Winfrey.For those of you unfamiliar with Kelley, her methods are best described as tabloid. She's published unflattering biographies on the Bush family, the British royals, Nancy Reagan and Frank Sinatra. She unearthed the coke-snorting habits of George W., Jackie O's battle with depression and Nancy Reagan's supposed affair with Sinatra.
Kelly's Oprah tome promises to include interviews with hundreds of sources - many of whom have not previously gone on the record about Winfrey. Who wants to guess on what the shocking revelation that sells the book will be? Lesbian encounter, depression, diet pill abuse? She keeps Steadmen in a cage? One thing is for sure. Alot more people are going to be pissed if Kelley gets Oprah wrong than cared whether or not she depicted the British royal family as loons. Looks like she's got another best-seller on her hands.

Kitty may have claws, but she tells the truth. She has a team of researches and covers her butt with facts to back up everything she says. After all the things she has written about people she has only been sued once, by Nancy Reagan, and that suit was dropped. I, for one, can't wait for this book!

I wish I knew how to reach Kitty Kelly; I would love nothing better than to see her address a horrific thing Oprah did when she went out with cameras in tow to televise her purchase of three purebred puppies from a known puppy mill. And all she could talk about for weeks was what a dog lover she was and how sorry she felt for the dogs left behind in the wake of Katrina. She's fully aware of how many thousands of childishly-smitten fans she has, almost to the extent that so many consider just a tad short of God; we've certainly all heard of the many wanting her to run for President of these U.States. What she did by purchasing 3 puppies when she could have so easily adopted others that, I guarantee you, have been euthanized (or worse). She made a mockery of the extreme epidemic we have in this country of animal abuse, dogs abandoned and slowly starving to death or mercifully being euthanized, etc. Society has put her on the proverbial pedestal, so one can't help but wonder how many thousands have also gone to puppy mills to buy puppies instead of saving lives by adoption. If anyone reading this post thinks I'm just an embittered activist, perhaps asking your county what portion of your annual taxes go towards animal control, shelters that euthanize, staff to maintain these facilities and the cost just to keep a dog (or cat) in a cage for 3 days prior to death will cause you to think twice. Shame of Oprah; she is certainly allowed to do as she wishes, but tact should have been utilized by not having this visit to the once-shut-down puppy mill as a televised focus of one of her shows. She truly disgusts me and any respect I had for her is null and void. Way to go Kitty Kelly!
