I'm so pleased that Ugly Betty, America Ferrera, and Michael C. Hall were recognized. I'm not sure if Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey, and Evangeline Lilly belong on the nominees' list. Maybe if there was an eye candy category. And where's Deadwood?

Ellen Pompeo?! I can think of 4 or 5 more deserving women than her. Bleh.
Also glad to see Michael C. Hall and Mary-Louise Parker are getting some recognition. I love both of them no matter what part they are playing.

I still don't get how Desperate Housewives is a comedy, not that I really watch it but the little pieces I have seen and all the commercials I see for it all seem to be dramatic, leading me to assume it is a drama. Can someone explain this one to me?

NBC has to be happy about this:
Best Performance Actor - TV Series/Musical/Comedy
Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock
Zach Braff, Scrubs
Steve Carell, The Office
Jason Lee, My Name Is Earl
Tony Shalhoub, Monk
Nice material to promote your "Must See TV"
Thursday night lineup, all 4 of which I enjoy.

It's still missing a lot, but here would be my selections. Of course, I can only select from shows I watch myself:
Best Drama: Heroes/24
Best Actress Drama: Kyra Sedgewick
Best Actor Drama: Michael C. Hall
Best Comedy: The Office
Best Actress Comedy: America Ferrera, I guess
Best Actor Comedy: Tony Shalhoub (I'm a major Scrubs fan, but Shalhoub's acting is excellent)
Best Supporting Actress: Elizabeth Perkins/Katherine Heigl
Best Supporting Actor: Masi Oka/Jeremy Irons

Patricia Arquette vs. Kyra Sedgewick? Now, that's a tough call. Those ladies have raised the bar! And now America Ferrera on the comedy side. Look out, men. The ladies are taking over!

And again, Battlestar Galactica gets the shaft. What's up? Are people afraid to to admit they link Battlestar? Patricia Arquette? Are you serious? She is more monotone than the telemarketer who calls to ask if I want a new credit card. "I wake up, dear lord, I had a vision." Whoopdie freakin' do. How about humanity's integrity is in the balance, crossing a line when dealing with protection and extermination.
'Cmon! They deserve a little bit o'love this season. Hell, ever. Battlestar Galactica is possibly the hardest working, most intelligent, show on in the last five years.
...Oh, and by the way, if Sylar was a Cylon, the Cheerleader would be dead.

I like Patricia A. and Kyra S. (different styles of acting = making their shows unique); and America Ferrera (she should win; she knows how to play Betty like no other could, and I realized how good an actress she was in one of the episodes).
And Tony S. and Hugh L. and Kiefer S., but Dexter, oops Michael C. Hall, has to win. He just has to.
I did not see any of his work in Six Feet Under, but he is simply one of my favorite actors out there now. I don't have cable, much less on-demand, yet I go back to my parents' house every week to catch this guy in action. He's sooooo good. And the others on the show too!
The golden globes better have their bulbs screwed on right.

The lack of love for Battlestar Galactica is amazing. And I say it every year, if Desperate Housewives is one of the best comedies, then the people voting for these things don't know what funny is.

Big Love? WTF were they smoking? It's not a bad show, but then consider the great shows on cable this year:
-Deadwood
-The Sopranos
-BSG
-Dexter!
-The Wire (why why why doesnt this show get nominated for ANYTHING??)
-The Shield
-Rescue Me (not its best season, but still)

No Gilmore, no Veronica Mars, no Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I hate awards shows, as they always pick just a handful of movie and/or TV programs to applaud. Like Leonardo DiCaprio needed two nods for best movie actor. It always amazes me that they feel the best work can only be done on critical darlings or big hits. Every actor in a movie and all actors in a TV program do not need to be lauded just because the show is a hit. Drives me nuts! In all the other productions out there, you can't find diversity? For as freaked out on diversity Hollywood is in general, they sure aren't diverse when it comes to the Globes, Emmys or Oscars. Anything but.
