Tori Spelling holding a yard sale

Tori Spelling at Godfather DVD PremiereSince moving to Los Angeles a couple of months ago, I find myself asking people over and over again, "Celebrities have people to do this for them, right?" I first thought that upon my visit to the Los Angeles DMV. I stood around in the painful, crushing humanity of it all wondering whether or not Brad Pitt could hire someone to renew his motorcycle license for him. Isn't the whole point of fame and wealth in America not to have dally with the hoi polloi? Assistants are supposed to do everything menial for you so you can stay home and count your money or fly overseas and save an African nation with your tax return.

Well, I guess Tori Spelling was tied tighter to daddy's purse strings than anyone knew. She would be one of those people I thought would never have to do something like clean out her closets and sell her wares in the front yard for chump change. I was wrong. Tori Spelling is holding a yard sale this Friday at 9AM at her Studio City home here in Los Angeles. From the way she's talking about it, it sounds like she's actually going to be the one sitting out front in the lawn chair haggling for dollars and making deals. Doesn't she know that there are auction houses, eBay and charities that would be happy to sell her designer duds and 90210 scripts for her?

She says that her tastes have changed, and she's dumping her shabby chic furniture finds in favor of a more mid-Century decor. Famous people are supposed to throw their old stuff in the garbage for the help and tabloid reporters to pick over. She's got this thing all wrong, but if you're a 90210 fan, you may profit from her folly. Call up your LA-based buddies because Tori's promised mucho memorabilia at bargain rates.
