If you've been sitting around all day waiting to see footage of someone from an unfunny sketch show make fun of an unfunny comedian, your wait is over. In the clip after the jump you can watch Ike Berenholtz of Mad TV throw down on the comedy stage as he does his impression of comedian Dane Cook.
I've never been a fan of Dane Cook, and I think the best description I've ever heard of him came from comedian Michael Schmidt on Jimmy Pardo's "Never Not Funny" podcast: "Dane Cook is KISS. He's the KISS of comedy. Just like, crazy, wild, bombastic phenomenon with the most pedantic, pedestrian content ever."
Berenholtz's Cook impression isn't too bad, and heck, I give him credit for trying to make people laugh by being unfunny on purpose, but I only laughed maybe once during the whole thing, which is still more than I've ever laughed at Dane Cook.

I laughed twice. The rest of the time, I just nodded in agreement that, yes, Dane Cook is not funny. Maybe it would've been funnier if he had actually done Dane's crap material.

...it sucked.
[wild applause and high-fives in the audience. Frat boys begin dog-pound woofing]
Good night!

If it would have been funnier if he was doing Dane Cook's material, then aren't you admitting that Dane Cook's material is at least somewhat funny?

While I agree Dane Cook's later material is not that funny... some of his earlier stuff is. I especially love his bit called "The Nothing Fight" which is found on Disc 2 of his Retaliation CD.
I guess I don't get why people hate on him for the type of comedy he does? Everyone has their own style and at least his is fun, energetic, and quirky. I saw him live at The Improv a couple years back and i've honestly never laughed so hard.

Dane Cook is an insult to stand-up, and comedy in general.
The impression was hilarious though.

I think Dane Cook is DECENT but definitely over-rated, and this is a PERFECT way to make fun of his act. I usually hate MadTv but this and a recent thing they did on House had me cracking up

Every time I see Dane Cook I think he's doing a bad Ryan Reynolds impression.

I agree with Sonburn and Jake. Why are some people so against Dane Cook's way of comedy? They must have little or no sense of humor whatsoever.Or, some people already hate him from the getgo regardless of how funny they think he is.Dane Cook became popular for a reason and that's because his acts are really funny and relevant to a majority of the American population.Mad TV spoofs a lot of popular people.Mad TV spoofing Dane Cook just shows proof of the extent of his popularity. When did Mad TV ever spoof a non-popular,non-fictional person on their show? I know that he won't be funny to every person in the country.I know that he won't be funny to my parents. So it's understandable to see why some people don't think he is funny at all.Everybody's entitled to their own opinion.I'm just expressing mine. You can't compare him to another person of comedy or of anyone else for that matter. He could be a bad impression of many people. He's definitely a bad impression of me and I'm definitely a bad impression of Dane Cook!Get my point? He's just being himself whether people like it or not. He's not an insult to comedy. He took comedy, not just stand-up comedy, to a higher level. There's one ultimate goal in comedy, to make people laugh regardless if his jokes are offensive to certain people. He's done that many times already. I always wish I could be funny as he is.
