According to insider's on the production, this week marked the first episode of America's Next Top Model without the involvement of its formerly striking, now fired, writing staff. Media-watchers are calling the episode the first real shark-jumper in the series with the dismissal of the only chick left who looked like a model and the cold water torture the girls suffered at mommy Tyra's hands. I was miffed last week when they chose Amanda over Michelle in a desire vs. talent match-up. In the real world, no one gives a crap how you feel about your work if you do it well.The thing that the writers really managed to keep in line was Tyra's burgeoning megalomania. They knew how to dole out Tyra's "fierceness" in just the right doses. Untamed, Tyra is headed down a road of weirdness no publicity team can save her from -- a world occupied by post-coach jumping Tom Cruises and post-trial Michael Jacksons -- asexual icons out-of-touch in the way only wealth and fame can make you. You can sorta imagine her in the old folks home for drag queens pullings a Norma "I'm ready for my close-up now" Desmond. You can officially freak-out when she starts wearing turbans on a regular basis.

While I generally like Tyra, she's looking more and more like a drag queen on the show. Hair piled up to celing, enough mascara to kill Tammy Fae, and these tacky Joan Collins ball gowns.
And frankly, the show has never been the same since Janice Dickenson left/got fired. Twiggy is a bland, no opinion replacement.

Everyone's drag queen references are funny, since, drag queens strive to emulate models--and the good ones do it extremely well. So, what you're kinda saying is that Tyra looks like herself, which it kinda stupid. To take it there...what you're really saying is that Tyra looks fierce...which would be accurate.
On topic, the last show didn't seem different to me. Would the writers plan the photo shoots? I think not. And, if you watch the prior show, you'd realize that they kicked Michelle (the one they really liked) off before Amanda because Michelle wasn't feeling it, and they felt that Amanda should go further than her...one week further. Amanda wasn't good.
The top 3 are a great top three. Melrose should take it. It's between her and Eugena.

i love love love this show... i am a middle aged woman with kids who always dreamed of being a model, but too scared to leave my silly home town... i love to watch and see what it would have been like.. i live vicariously through the models... good luck to them... go for it and i hope its everything you dreamed of!! twiggy is ok, but janice was beyond annoying and always appeared to be on drugs and alcohol, i agree that i am not fond of tyra's look, the hair is way to glam as well as the wardsrobe... just look cool tyra, like you expect the models to look.. love jay, and my Sweet precious Jesus, love that Nigel!! Nigel, if you may be reading this somewhere on this planet... you are hot!!!!

I was shocked that Carriedee won! She really flubbed up that fashion show. Melrose nailed the fashion show, but I guess she was just too old for them and too know-it-all. I think that Melrose was shocked and hurt that she didn't win. Her reaction was gunuine. Eventhough Melrose got on my nerves at times, she clearly was the best of all the girls. Maybe someone will pick her up and give her a chance. As for Tyra, she likes to have fun, she loves makeup and hair, and there is no one like her!

No one seems to have picked up that Caridee is beyond being a loose cannon. She seems bipolar staying in the manic phase while on TV, but with the potential to hit deep depressions. She was one of the least talented. She cannot talk for a commercial; she couldn't walk for the runway show; she did not impress at go sees; and the photo on one of the show's websites was awful - open-mouthed and vacant looking.
