What the hell is going on at The View?! Forget Meet The Press or Face The Nation or Bill O'Reilly, the most controversial show, week after week, is an ABC morning show where a bunch of women sit around and talk about stuff. Who woulda thunk it?
This week's edition comes from Danny Devito, who appeared on the show yesterday to promote his new Christmas movie Deck The Halls. Not only is he clearly tipsy, he has released a statement apologizing for the entire escapade. You can actually feel that Rosie and Joy and Elisabeth and Barbara and the entire audience knew he was drunk. Of course, the women knew it when he hugged them all, but the audience could probably smell the fumes, and you there at home will probably be able to as well.
Jeez, at 11am in the morning? Well, he does say he hadn't even been to bed yet. We should start a contest to guess which celeb is going to do what next. Video after the jump!

Okay, here's one.....
On his reality show, Ed Begley Jr. will put his wife through the wood-chipper.
The wood-chipper is solar-powered, of course.....

You know, this would make a very funny episode of IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA...just have DeVito's character, Frank, go on a local Philly talk show.
THE VIEW's become kind of disturbing as of late...

Of course, the DeVito situation could have been much much worse.....
He could have been on the show with no pants or underpants on....
It would have been a whole different kind of promotion for "My Boys"!

Well, that was enough to make me NOT go see a Danny Devito movie ever again. I used to like him, but as with many of Hollywood's liberal slime, they come out and spout their anti-Bush crap, and I respond by NOT patronizing their projects. He comes out drunk as a skunk, he and Rosie the liberal slime are sucking up to each other, which is enough to make anyone sick, he slams the Bush family, reminisces about the detestable Clinton years, then talks about defiling the Lincoln bedroom with Rhea Perlman. President Bush allows this liberal scumbag into the White House (why?), and is repaid in this manner? Disgusting! Hollywood's liberal elitists truly have NO shame, and NO deference for our Presidents or the White House.

What's the difference between being drunk and being deliberately obnoxious? Not much. Both impair judgment... and when one's SOBER judgment is as impaired as Devito's, being tipsy just means he has a better excuse than usual.
Like Steve C, I don't go to movies whose "stars" are obnoxiously liberal. Add this one to the list. There are ways to make a political statement without being vicious. Too bad so many Hollywood liberals don't get that. As a result, they won't get my money at the ticket booth.

I don't know who y'all are declaring "Hollywood liberals" but I am quite sure "Hollywood 'rights'" are not much better - maybe fewer in number, but just as much bumbling about and being hypocritical both ways, my friends. Both ways. The best thing to do to misbehaving folks is to ignore them, to that I agree, because the press and publicity gives them more power - and that also goes both ways (for "Hollywood liberals" and awful presidents).

You Tube sucks It's way too slow to show much of anything and who cares if Danny Devito was or wasn't drunk. We don't walk in his shoes, who are we to judge? There is only ONE PERFECT person and it isn't any of us. If he hasn't been to sleep yet, maybe he came from a party or something. I'm sure alot of us have done that before more of us then we would care to admit. I know in my younger days I have done the same thing. We stay up after drinking and talking until we realize it's too late to go to sleep because we need to be someplace so we do our best to stay awake. Throw cold water on our face, drink lots of coffee use mouth wash chew alot of gum, or breath mints and keep talking. In fact, I had out of state company and stayed up with them until 5am, but I don't drink anymore because of an illness. I only slept for 1 hour that night/day, but if I was drinking and stopped at 3am or so, I'm sure people would have smelled it on me. Just like moring breath, but brushing your teeth doesn't help when you have been drinking.Actors works just like the rest of us, they do their job. But they are also human just like the rest of us and we all make mistakes as we go through life. Not to see his movie because of this really makes you sound petty and judgemental.I'm going to pray for you, because "only Jesus can judge me" There are far more important things happing in the world that we should focus on. Shame on us for making Danny Devito's drinking such a BIG deal.

I've never seen any examples of a "Hollywood Right" (there are so few) acting this way, disrespecting the White House, being publicly drunk and stupid, etc. If you're going to make that statement, back it up with facts. As for "awful Presidents", our President wakes up every day and tries to keep the nation safe for everyone, including the Liberal morons who disrespect him for it. And when a person lives as a public figure, goes on a national TV show, etc., they are putting themselves out there to be judged; they should act accordingly, and suffer the consequences accordingly. Thanks, Katie P and Pamela!

Danny DeVito's physical acting up while drunk was kin to Robin William's tired shtich that we've seen from him lately when he's a guest on a show. I guess when these guys stop getting the adoration from their fans they need to act up to get attention. It's so pathetic. I hope his movie is a bomb.

"Deck the Halls"... I don't think you have to worry whether it will be a bomb or not. In fact, just distribute copies in Sadr City and many problems will be alleviated.
Steve C, you are a bold man who I respect for posting your thoughts. Most people who watch (and would comment on) the View would tend to find themselves in DeVito's obnoxious corner, so I applaud you and agree with you. Frankly Hollywood just has to be Hollywood and the majority of HONEST Americans can see it for what it really is. We don't even really have to say much, they dig their own grave.
Just watch, this is the kind of post thats going to get me stars from a bunch of liberal entertainment reporters!

Oh, and by the way... like the president or not, there is a certain respect that the Office of the Presidency and the White House command... Bush, Clinton, ALL past and future presidents deserve it. The way DeVito crudely referred to his sexual romps through the Lincoln Bedroom disgraced him and disrespected our nation.

To #3 Zack, I agree the View is disturbing. I TIVO it so I can fast forward the commercials and when Elisabeth trys to make an intellgent comments.Any moment Watching Barbara Walters reaction to her vision of show unfold every day and detoriate into a show much like Jerry Springers!! Hilarious moments since Rosie joined. The only sane one now, apprears to be JOY!! Joy at least had the common sense to tell Rosie off, when Rosie asked Britney Spears to come live with her and they could do kids things together.

All this "Liberal Hollywood" is a bunch of crap. What about all those country music singers who wrap themselves in the American flag but still sing for beer commercials.
You want some examples of famous conservatives attacking Democrats.
-John McCain saying Chelsea Clinton's real father was Janet Reno.
-Dennis Miller calling Bill Clinton a "horny hillbilly" and Ted Kennedy a "sloppy drunk" (Ted Kennedy's Irish-American by the way) and Robert Byrd a "moron".
And so what if some celebrities express their opinions. What just because they're famous they shouldn't have opinions on world affairs and politics? If the majority of Hollywood was conservative I bet you all wouldn't be complaining about them expressing their opinions then.
If Hollywood is sooo liberal why do they make fun of Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Ted Kennedy

Anyone who is going to boycott Devito's X-mas themed movie ought to be ashamed of him or herself! Don't you know (according to Bill O'Reilly) that there is a WAR on X-mas? By boycotting this X-mas themed movie because it stars "Hollywood liberal elites", you are falling right into their ("secular progressive") trap! It is the obligation of every patriotic American during this time of war to see this movie. Also, you must adorn your house with X-mas lights, just like Devito's character, so that it can be seen from outer space. If you need something to boycott, boycott France!

Chris,
You're confused. Country stars who "wrap themselves" in the flag and do beer commercials are in NO way similar to a disgusting drunk liberal slug who riducules an American President in a time of war and defiles the Lincoln Bedroom of the White House ("wrecks the joint"). Our founding fathers swilled quite a bit of ale in their time, and doing a beer commercial has nothing to do with undermining our President, our nation, or our troops while they're trying to stabilize the middle East and fight a global war to keep Al Quaeda from blowing me and you up. No connection.
John McCain didn't make that joke while drunk, and the nation was not at war at the time (even though Al Quaeda had declared war on us, but Bill didn't pull up his pants long enough to notice).
Same with Dennis Miller. And all those things he said were true. Making jokes about American senators and congressmen, or even the President is one thing, but you don't viciously attack a wartime President, because it weakens our whole nation in the eyes of the world. You don't have to agree with his decisions but you do have to respect him. He's in charge.
Conservatives made jokes about Clinton because he deserved it. He undermined the office he was elected to, he lied under oath, and is a disgrace to the nation. Even so, there was no "hatred" of Clinton, just disappointment and disapproval.
There's a BIG difference between that kind of treatment and what Bush gets. The left in this nation HATE him, they viciously attack and undermine him and our troops, and unrightfully so. They claim he lied and troops died, which is simply false. They want civil rights for foreigners who would slit your family's throats without batting an eye. Bush is determined not to have another attack on US soil on his watch. Undermining him is simply un-American, and aids our enemies. Thanks Danny Devito. We need more pigs like you.
Madonna, Streisand, Pink, the Dixie Chicks, and many others in entertainment were all fine with me, until they started their hateful attacks on our President. If they want to sell their music, they should be careful not to piss off at least half their potential fan-base. We vote for them with our dollars.

who gives a crap about what condition he was in, for a drunk he acted pretty good! and for slamming Bush, who cares, comedians do it all the time! If ole bushie wasn't in office we would have more of our own boys and girls still alive instead of fighting a war that just cant be won. I say cheers to you Danny and thanks for a good laugh. If the stiff tightasses on the view cant just chuckle about it then they need to get a life and lighten up a little!

How can anyone be upset with a guy who is taking a shot at a administration that has lied, cheated and sent 1,000's of people to their death for no real reason. He is entitled to his opinion right wrong or indifferent. I do not think it was right to come on and be drunk but how many of us have got up after a long night and went to work. If this is all we have to worry about life would be a breeze.
