How Smith would have ended

ray liotta; smithAll unaired episodes of Smith are now up on CBS' broadband channel, Innertube. The heist drama was canceled in early October, after only three episodes made air. The remaining four episodes are available on Innertube, but there is also a synopsis of how the story arc would have played out and what would have become of the characters had the show remained on the air. After episode 13, it would've been a hell of a cliffhanger.

I've read the synopses and I'll spoil it for you... after the jump:

The synopsis section of CBS's website has long, detailed rundowns of episodes 8-12, which were never shot. I've gone ahead and spent the time to read them, and I'll just give you the big stuff here. Basically, they all get caught by the feds and make a run for it. Joe and Annie make it. No one else does.

Let's just say that all the really good stuff happens in episodes 10, 11 and 12. The gang goes out on a job in Houston with an old acquaintance of Bobby's, named Yves. They rob a vault that has $30 million in blood money from "corrupt" African officials. But it goes horribly wrong. Jeff and Tom have the money but their getaway car is blocked in the alley. The alarm goes off at the bank and they run through the streets of Houston with duffle bags full of money. They get caught and end up in a shootout with cops. They barricade themselves in a store and take hostages. Eventually, they let the hostages go and pull their guns and get shot to death by the cops. Both of them die!

All the while, the feds are hot on the gang's tail. The feds capture Yves, the French guy who set Bobby up with the Houston job. He gives them photos and names of the gang: Bobby, Annie, Tom and Jeff. The photos get splashed all over the news and suddenly everyone is on the run.

Charlie lures Macy to her home with the promise of a job, but has her killed. Macy is the wife of the guy who was killed during the job in the first episode. Charlie's henchman drops off Macy's son at a playground and disappears. Joe finds him at Child Services, where he admits to the boy that he is his father. The feds link Joe to Macy's missing husband, Shawn, and when they confront Joe he switches identities with his brother and leaves town with his son, but not before killing Charlie.

Hope (Virginia Madsen) sneaks into Bobby's accountant's office and steals his file. She finds out about his offshore accounts and finds utility bills for his apartment. She confronts him about his life of crime when he returns from Houston and finds her in his apartment. He says she knew all along. She leaves and takes the kids. The last episode is mostly a chase around LA as Bobby looks for Hope and the feds look for Bobby. Just when it looks like Hope is going to turn herself in, she decides to leave the country with Bobby. They split up at the Mexican border, where Hope gets caught but Bobby gets through. At the end, Bobby turns himself in in exchange for Hope's release. It ends as a love story.
