Saturday Night Live will have three new episodes, back-to-back, before breaking for the Christmas holiday. Here's the schedule of hosts and musical guests:
- Matthew Fox & Tenacious D, December 2
- Annette Bening & Gwen Stefani, December 9
- Justin Timberlake, December 16
I may actually watch the Matthew Fox episode just because I'm curious to see how they make fun of
Lost. Let's hope it's not a Q&A monologue with rabid
Lost fans. That's too easy. Plus, Tenacious D is always a hoot. Hopefully we'll see Jack Black in a few sketches (He would make a great Hurley!) The Justin Timberlake episode also intrigues me just because he seems to be up for anything the
SNL writers throw at him. I expect we'll see the
SNL holiday special on the following Saturday, December 23rd.

I'll probably TiVo the Timberlake ep soley on the chance that they'll do another 'The Barry Gibb Talk Show' Skit.

Annette Bening?? That should be a boring show. She needs to pull in a lot of (her friends) guest star appearances to make it worth while. There are a lot of really good female comedians for SNL, (Amy Poler etc.) Not sure what Annette's schick will be.

I'm not gonna lie- the J.T. episodes are usually above average. What's Annette Bening promoting? And why Tenacious D so far after the movie release date?

I'll be watching the Matt Fox episode. Whatever Lost parody they come up with, it better be good.

The Dec 2nd episode looks alright. Tenacious D rocks and you know they'll show up in some sketches. Gwen Stefani sucks but Annette Bening might be the versatile Female host that we're looking for. As far as Timberlake goes he's got energy but that's about it. I'm not a fan of his music or that overly smug fratboy attitude of his. He's hosted once and it wasn't that great, aside from the Kermit the frog thing and Punk'd it was pretty lackluster. I see his episode being filled with one gag sketches and lots of cliche' bits.
