(S02E13) I didn't really pay much attention to the previews last week, so I didn't see it coming when Mike and Linc were taken into custody. Of course it makes more sense that something like that would happen, given how last week ended, since clearly we couldn't have Mahone going on killing the two of them.
Somehting that sort of occurred to me: Why is Mahone trying to kill them when it seems like it might actually be easier to kill William Kim? Would he think that those who work with/for Kim would still carry out the hit on his family? I guess that could be the case, but with Mahone's attitude it seems he'd feel a lot better killing Kim than the two brothers.
As vile as T-Bag is, he's the most interesting character of the series so far -- Michael lost that privilege a while back. I almost wonder if the creators of this show modeled T-Bag somewhat after Hannibal Lecter, how he seems to have a way with words and one hell of a creepy demeanor. "Don't be frightened. Teddy's home."
At first the notion of Bellick going to Fox River seemed completely absurd, though the writers seem to have lightened that up a bit bu excusing things on the new warden wanting to prove himself. The problem there is how does he prove himself in the right by throwing a former employer of the state in with gen pop to be eaten alive? Oh, and someone commented previously on who they'd like Bellick's cellie to be -- good call!
Are we supposed to know who that was with Kim, the mute old guy? OK mabe he wasn't mute, but he sure seemed to like passing notes along. I think his next one was "I like you do you like me? Circle: yes or no."
Getting back to Bellick, is it typical that someone who murdered one man be considered for the death penalty? Sure Linc was there for the same reason, though he killed a very high profile person, so in the interest of maintaining the country's faith, I could see them pushing for his death. But Bellick? Mommy's Brad?
Random thought: T-Bag's new chick works in a Post Office and hasn't seen a big poster with T-bag's face plastered on it before? Everyone else in the country does and she doesn't?
I'm actually glad to see that Sucre made it out. Is it the end of the line for his side of the story? Is he just as likely to be extradited if he's caught in Mexico? Or is he really, truly free (though broke)?
And then Sara, finally taking the hint that changing her appearance might be a good idea, even though she really is still pretty easy to pick out. Come on people, a shaved head or purple hair! Nobody looks for that!
As for what should have been a shocker ending, the network totally botched it for everyone with their commercials saying "you won't believe who helps them." So it's close to the end of the episode, and nobody has helped them yet. It didn't take much to figure out how it'd all go down.
Looks like we have to wait until January for things to begin again. See you then!

They do the same thing with Las Vegas, they do a recap of the show up to that point. But sometimes, they recap stuff that hasn't happened yet, and I'm always confused. So, now I make sure and skip the commercials in case something like that happens. I did it tonight, and I was pretty shocked by the ending. Awesome episode.

I missed some episodes awhile back and I was wondering if you could tell me what happened to Abruzzi. I seems that the episodes I missed must have had to do with what happened to him.

I said the same thing Scott. The other thing that struck me as odd about their trek into Albuquerque was that shot of the city. If they were coming into town from the border, they would have been coming from the south, right? That shot was taken so it looked more like they were coming from the north, headed south. Add to that the next scenes were in that tunnel and I wondered if the writers had actually ever BEEN to New Mexico!

Ben,
Abruzzi was reunited with his family in New York, and they were planning to relocate out of the country. Then, he got a "tip" regarding Otto Fibonacci's location and, despite his wife's tearful plea, went to go get him. The tip was fraudulent; he was set up by someone working with the feds - when he got to the motel room looking for the rat, he was surrounded. He came out to surrender but when he reached for his gun, Mahone put about 4,217 bullets in him. Mahone took some flak for how it went down, seeing as they could've taken him alive, but we didn't know at the time that Mahone was on a mission to kill.

Bellick, can you say irony? How did they connect him to the murder on some circumstantial evidence as a recording, don't they have a CSI unit to connect the time of his buddy's death and time they had him at the police dept.

Did anyone notice that Bellick got questioned, detained, and sent back to Fox River from Missouri in like one day? Is it just me, or doesn't it take a little while before someone is sentenced and transported to a federal prison.
Other than that, this was a great fall finale and has me thirsting for January 22nd!

Jeff - it's not just Bellick who seems to have slipped the space-time continuum, either... Our buddy T-Bag seemed to have been teleporting around as well. Somehow he slept with, got information from and killed one woman, traveled to another location and showed up on his obsession's door - all in the span of Michael and Lincoln entering and getting stuck in that tunnel!
I think it's safe to say the writers aren't showing us the stories unfold on exactly the same timeline...
Keith - I thought it made sense for the new warden to toss Bellick to the dogs. The guard said it himself - the warden wants to show the preferential treatment is over, so what better way than to stick Bellick into butt-rape central over there? Some sweet poetic justice.
It's been painfully obvious that Kellerman was headed to flipsville for a while, but still it was a a shocking moment when he blew Mahone away. Is Mahone dead? I really hope not, because...
Does anyone else think Kellerman isn't actually going to help them? I mean, if he wanted to take Michael, Lincoln AND Sarah out all at the same time while getting the information from Sarah, what better way to do it than to pretend? Give me a break, like she'd ever trust him if they all get together? I could totally see things working out in reverse and it's ultimately Mahone who helps them blow the conspiracy apart.
I say it every week, but this show is so good at getting me to ignore the nagging errors/unbelievable parts. Can't wait til January.

Keith,
Yeah I was wondering about the old guy too. I took a screencap of him and put it up on my review. Maybe they've just changed the actors for Terrance Steadman again. lol.
Anyway, I really like Kellerman and I'm glad to see he's come to his senses. I really can't imagine that Agent Kim would really think that Kellerman wouldn't go down without a fight.
Still no Haywire. LOL!
But, all in all I thought it was a pretty good finale. I thought that either Mahone or Kellerman would switch sides, I just never thought Mahone would die in the process.
But, maybe he's not dead. I bet when it comes back on January we see Mahone rolling around in pain, and not actually dead. Anyone else wanna follow me on this?

Prison Break is a good show, and i can't wait for it to be re-paired with 24, it is an amazing night of high octane drama.
Anyone else think the show will end with Haywire being the only con to get away? I just keep thinking that will the perfect ironic end.

A few thoughts on this episode...
(1) For whatever reason this one has me thinking ALOT about the story arc. About comparing it to other shows currently on, older shows, and simply - this show.
Overall it feels like the writers had a 3, maybe 4 season story to tell - and they are doing it properly.
(2) So going with that... Mahone or Kellerman? Taken from a big picture perspective, who has more motivation to aid Michael and Linc? Or more appropriately, who has more motive to turn against the conspiracy? Kellerman has nothing to lose except his job - and he's shown time and time again that he'll do what the President wants. Mahone OTOH has alot more to lose, meaning he has more motivation to eventually turn. Besides - which is the more interesting character?
I'm expecting to see something not yet seen in this show - deliberately misleading the viewers about a character. Kellerman is really going to show his stripes and Linc will end up killing for the first time, and Mahone will be the "insider" who helps them.
(3) Which brings us to what someone else here already commented on. Bellick, and the ironic way events have led him to be EXACTLY where Linc was when the show started last season. I'm not a professional writer. But I have to admire this twist. If I were to create a straightforward character who would - over a full story - come to aid the flawed-but-wrongfully-convicted Linc, this would be the guy. Start by showing us how typical he is... make him pretty much friendless and give him a vengeful temper... then turn the tables and cage him where he'll gain an understanding where the protagonist had been.
When Michael and Linc return to Foxboro, who better to aid them in their SECOND escape than the ex-guard who has no reason NOT to?

As for Bellick being considered for the death penalty -- as far as they know, he killed a man in the course of committing another crime (robbery). That's first degree murder, and a capital offense.
However, one of the things about Prison Break that's puzzled me is a glaring anachronism: it's set in Illinois, isn't it? Illinois has had a moratorium on the death penalty since 2000. They still -have- it, but it's not used anymore. Sure, this is TV, and we suspend disbelief all the time, but there are 36 other states they could've set the show in, right?

MY THOUGHTS:
Mahone: I don’t think that the writers would kill off Mahone that easily - he’s still alive. Besides, there’s still the storylines about him taking those drugs (whatever they are) and the murder of Oscar Shales. They have to tie up those loose ends and hold Mahone accountable.
Kellerman: I have the sneaking suspicion that the Kellerman switching sides thing is a set-up. He loves working for the President so he’s going to earn Lincoln and Michael’s trust then betray them to prove himself worthy to be back with the government. Also, what do you think Sarah’s reaction is going to be when she sees him with Michael and Linc? What’s he going to say to her? “Uh, sorry about that whole waterboarding interrogation thing. We cool?”
T-Bag: He’s so frickin’ smart and some of his one-liners are priceless but if he kills that woman from whom he’s seeking revenge, I want the writers to end his life in a very made-for-primetime-TV way.
Sarah: A bad razorblade haircut does not make for a new identity.
Mr. Kim: He’s awesome. I hope he dies.
Aldo’s Posse: They’ll step in and help Michael and Linc when Kellerman is about to turn against them.
THE RETURN OF PRISON BREAK: On January 29th, (the episode on the 22nd is a recap) we’ll see how right (or possibly wrong) I am.
Cheers!

I think that it makes sense that Kellerman not Mahone is the one that helped the brothers. Kellerman works for the vice president or currently the president for so long. He's been part of the game and he knows what if the party decides that they're through with someone there's no return-back. That's why he wouldn't bother trying to convince them that he's loyal to them because they want to get rid of him. So his other option would be getting the party down. That's how he can save his ass.
I have a question? remember that crazy person that fled with them from prison? ..he totally dissappeared.. what happened to him? did I miss anything?
