(S03E10) What a disturbing episode. The whole idea of a government running experiments on it's own citizens is creepy enough and it's made even harder to swallow because there's plenty of truth to it. So I guess it's pretty cool that this show was willing to tackle a taboo topic like that.
So... government ran experiments. People got killed. Don and the team caught the bad guy. Savor that brief episode description because it's all you're going to get out of me. There are tons of other things I want to talk about.
First up? Larry is going into space! This is a crazy storyline but I suppose it makes sense. Peter MacNicol was also cast in the upcoming season of 24. So I guess by sending him to space on this show, they're not writing him out but he won't be around much. I do like the conflict this created between him and Charlie though. I wonder if they actually would kill Larry off this show? If anything it would give weight to Charlie's fears about being crammed into a tiny space shuttle and dying, but Larry seems to be gaining as a cast member on Numb3rs. He'll be back.
It was weird seeing David Zayas guest starring in this episode. Right now you can catch him as Det. Angel Batista on Dexter. He's great in that show which is why it's odd seeing him here. I always have a hard time seeing someone on one show when they have an established role on another. It's not that it bugs me, but it's like seeing someone out of their element.
Speaking of being out of their element, where was Alan? This is the second time Judd Hirsch has been absent from an episode. It happened once last season when Hirsch was presumably tied up with shooting the pilot episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. So I have to wonder now. Since Studio 60 has been picked up for a full season, does this mean we might see Hirsch reprise his role as Wes Mendell in another episode? Probably not since this episode of Numb3rs was most likely shot at least a month ago, well before the news of Studio 60's pick-up. But hey, you never know. See? These are the types of things that run through my head when I watch TV.
Back to the episode one last time. Classic scene between Colby and Charlie when they were in the computer room together. Charlie does something crazy with math and then asks Colby, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Colby's dead-pan response? "No." It was a laugh-out-loud moment. Helped to lighten up the show a little though.
We'll have to wait and find out about Larry the Astronaut though. Next week is a repeat.

Kind of had a "Manchurian Candidate" vibe to it.
Also,is Megan pregnant? The cameraman has not been hugging her lovely figure for the last few episodes and I've noticed her hair has been curled/va-voomed possibly to compensate?

Diane Farr is pregnant. I've been trying to figure out if they're going to write it in or not. She's started walking with her hand on her belly so they're gonna have to deal with it soon.
My girl thinks Megan's comment about the timing of larry going to space being bad was maybe a hint that she's about to announce her pregnancy on the show.

This was my first time ever seeing the show, and I got the impression that Diane Farr's pregnancy was already part of the show.
When she and Peter MacNicol walked in to tell the Epps brothers the news about Larry going on the space shuttle, Rob Morrow pointedly looked at her growing stomach with surprise. I guess I just interpreted that as him being shocked at how fast the pregnancy was accelerating.

On the TV Guide podcast (Episode 71, October 13, 2006, http://tvguide.com/News-Views/TVGuide-Talk/Podcasts/default.aspx), Diane Farr (she really was a great guest!) said they would NOT write the pregnancy into the show. She said they didn't want to have her character, who is a good but tough guy, be tied down by having a baby. They didn't want her to have a baby then conveniently ignore that fact as they do so often on other shows. And, they didn't want one more failed pregnancy on television. So, let's just chalk her tummy up to the fact that cops like doughnuts!

I always love to see how shows hide pregnancies. Megan now wears alot of jackets, alot of dark colors and layers of the same color... black jacket on a black shirt with dark grey pants sort of thing. She now aims at bad guys from behind car doors and carries file folders around. I love it when actresses have to start carrying large purses, wearing heavy long coats, etc. I think the best any show covered it up was Sex In The City. They still put Sarah Jessica Parker in some pretty sexy clothes but filmed in angles that hid it well. They were horrible at covering it up on Will & Grace and then made the character pregnant after Debra Messing had her kid.

I'm just catching up with shows I missed over the holiday weekend.
Did anyone else ever see Telefon with Charles Bronson and Lee Remick? Same assassin premise.
