David Caruso is so over the top as Horatio Caine and I'm not the only one who thinks so. Someone has edited Horatio one liners in a seven-minute long video clip and posted it on YouTube. It's a compilation of all the super-cool lines he has before the opening credits of CSI: Miami. And each one ends with the opening note of the theme song. By the way, you don't need to watch the whole seven minutes to understand that Horatio Caine is the master of the ellipsis (...). And, he uses his sunglasses as a prop way too much.Video is after the jump:

This is a highly stylized show. That's the way it's written and produced. It's very popular for that reason. I think Caruso does a great job with it.

LOLOLOL!!!! Horatio/Caruso's overdramatization/overacting is a running joke in my household! Whenever my husband & I tell our kid to do a chore or something, we say, "This is what I want..." [put on sunglasses] "... you to do .... Give the dog ... a bath...." On behalf of my family, thank you SO much for sharing this video, Anna!

Gawd, I can't wait to see it! They did this on "The Showbiz Show with David Spade" last season ... albeit they only used 4 clips, and some were just from dialog during the show -- hilarious! You can find it on youtube.

This is why I only watch the original "CSI Classic." Griss laughs at your pathetic Sunglasses Of Justice.

Heh heh. Excellent. His other annoying quirk, in addition to the sunglasses, is constantly choosing "arms akimbo" as his only "what do I do with my hands?" choice.
Back when TWoP was still recapping this show, they used to refer to him as the Grief Whisperer. That still cracks me up.
I had to stop watching the show because he is so irritating.

If you think it's funny/weird watching it just think about how funny/weird were he to actually do it in real life or at least without opening credits to excuse him.

Say what you will but he's not as bad as George Clooney used to be with his dramatic head-tilt up until the past few years.
Seriously, go watch him back in the early *ER* days, and then drop *From Dusk Till Dawn* into your DVD player. Any time there's some dramatic dialogue, he tilts his head. It was so bad that in the atrocious *Batman and Robin*, they have him with a towel around his neck so he doesn't tilt his neck so much.
My friends and I used to refer to it as the "George Clooney School of Acting" technique. Its just not as endearing as William Shatner's scene chewing techniques.

My wife and I have a drinking game for this show, whenever he gives a trademarked H'ism we always say... "Take a shot." Then you're guaranteed a good time.

Curuso-TOX! LMAO....I believe Im lol with ppl who watch first couple of seconds on 10pm Monday Nights. Looks like it was all season 3-4 I believe. (I only have season 1 & 2 DVD). I like when he puts his sunglasses and wiggles his head like a jackbox. (So funny I love it!)
I like #17's idea....great when friends are over.
