First there was the Real World/Road Rules Challenge. Then there was All-Star Survivor and Big Brother All-Stars. Now... hold on to your hats, reality fans... CBS has decided that it's high time for an all-star version of The Amazing Race (Rich first mentioned this last month, but now it's official). And, yes, that means Rob and Amber (or as Rob says it, "Ambah") will be gracing our TVs once again.
According to ComingSoon.net, the 11th season of the classy, travel-oriented reality hit will be an all-star edition, pitting favorite pairs from previous versions. Variety is saying that along with "First Couple" of reality shows (they were on Survivor twice, got married on TV, and compteted on Race), their chief rivals, Joyce and Uchenna, will also participate as will David and Mary, the Kentucky coal miner and his wife. Not appearing? Jonathan and Victoria, Chip and Kim, and anyone from the oft-maligned family edition.
Rob... Ambah... if you're reading this (and I'm sure you are), can I ask you crazy kids a question? Why? Why subject yourself to the harsh eye of reality TV again? Not that I'm a big fan, but none of these shows has made Rob look very patient, or intelligent, or fair, or... well, let's just say that fans of the last Race you were in aren't exactly singing your praises. Is your marriage so empty that you can't function unless there's a cameraman and sound man surrounding you at all times? Jeez alou... even Omarosa knew when her fifteen minutes were up.

Rob and Amber's 15 minutes have been more than up for quite a while now, but I don't think he came off unintelligent in Amazing Race. You basing that simply on the way he speaks? He may not be particularly articulate, but in terms of game strategy I remember him to be pretty savvy. He did a great job of playing the other teams against each other, even when they were all after him and Amber.

Agree with mollyb, Rob played TAR as well as it's ever been played. His street smarts combined with Amber's hotness is a great combination; something that's mostly lacking this season.
Besides which, I do suspect they have quite a relationship on their own - Amber's sensibility seems way too strong for it to be otherwise. Reality TV is probably just $income for them. Wouldn't you do it?

i agree as well, i could have cared less if he won or not, i was just happy he made it to the end because that ment more manipulation throughout the race, and it was fun to watch
thing is most teams in the all-star should be more aware of their tactics, and less prone to being played

I agree with the previous posters. I enjoyed Rob and Amber's gameplay - it certainly made the show more interesting. I was kind of hoping to see Will and Janelle from Big Brother All-Stars on the next Amazing Race however.

I want the Bowling Moms to be on this. I always liked them. But why Rob and Amber! And although i liked Uchenna and Joyce, i don't think previous winners should participate. But i am looking forward to revisiting some of these old teams. I just hope its an even mix of all seasons and not just the past few recent ones. The frat boys from the first season would also be cool to have back.

I thought Rob and Amber were one of the best pairs on TAR. I'm sorry, it's a race, it's a competition and Rob is one of the few who remembered that from the beginning. I actually never really cared for him that much on Survivor but I loved him TAR.

I hate the whole "All-Star" concept. It just means to me these shows are on their last legs. Amazing Race has been really lack luster, and Survior this season is just a bore. I pretty much didn't like anyone from the AS Survivor or Big Brother. With second chances in the spotlight, most of these people come off as to self aware and playing up for show.

Okay, this is getting interesting. Rob is one of the most strategic players ever to take part in "The Amazing Race" and raised things to a whole new level by thinking strategically, all the time with some of the teams actively hating them because they had been on "Survivor" and Amber had won "Survivor: All Stars". (BTW, I though Rob was working on a show where he learned to be a professional Poker player with Daniel Negreanu as his mentor.)
"The Amazing Race" should be an easy show to pick "all-stars" from - just pick the teams which finished first or second in each version of the race - they are by definition the best racers of each season. But of course that doesn't necessarily give a cast with the strongest personalities. What would an "Amazing Race All-Stars" be without teams like Kevin & Drew (S1), Jon & Al (S4), Charla & Mirna (S5), or Lori & Bolo (S6)? They were teams that didn't even make it into the final episode but which caught people's imaginations, sometimes in ways that the winners didn't.

Rob and Ambah are the reason I began watching TAR again. And while Rob may seem ruthless, I remember him always thanking and being extremely polite to the "working people". The cab drivers, locals, etc. What's not to like about them?

I stumbled accross this gibberish. It is sad that any pf you are able to comment at all about such matters. That means that you are among the empty headed Americans that find such "entertainment" intersting and useful and/or worthy of comment. Take your heads out of your rear-ends and focus on the REALITY instead; this world is geared towards reducing your brains to mush by presenting such garbage as meaningful. Pray for yourselves!

Way to go, Ralph. You're doing God's work. You took time out of your busy, important life to chastise people for commenting on a reality TV show by commenting on a reality show. Way to take down the system from the inside!
Oh, and "intersting" called: it wants its 'e' back.

I hope Kris and Jon from season six are included. They ran a great race (coming in a close second to the obnoxious Freddy and Kendra) and seemed to be enjoying almost every minute of it.
And that's one reason I also enjoyed the hippies from the last cycle. While they certainly wanted to win the money, their first goal seemed to be having fun and taking advantage of a unique opportunity to see the world.
That's what makes this show so much fun to watch. I always root for the teams who enjoy the journey first and worry about the destination later.

I liked Rob and Amber since survivor, and on TAR they were great to watch. What they still have going for them is I still don't think the other teams will give them enough credit. And if previous winners are in the group, they will be the first targets, and the hardest to take out anyway. Could be a good season with the right people.
That is what has bothered me about this season of TAR, nobody really has captured me. Kentucky did, and so did the Chos (but they were to nice for the race, and it cost them.)
p.s - molly, your response to ralph was probably the best comment I've read in weeks, and I was thinking the exact same thing myself. (except for the 'intersting' part.. thats classic.)

I don't get why all the negativity towards Rob? It's a game, he makes it entertaining by messing with all the competition but he is very respectful and nice to all the local people. Even the people in the "Third world countries". Yet people hate him and not those who act as if they are dealing with an inferior breed of people and there have been plenty of those. Overall it should make next season a fun one.

CBS should have asked the viewers..
Amazing Race 11 should have:
1) no previous winners
2) Kris and Jon!!!! from Season 6, my favorite team!! (tied with my other fav team Uchenna and Joyce but they won already)
3) no Rob and Amber - celebrity status gave them an unfair advantage, already have too much $, got a free wedding, give someone else a chance
4) perhaps 2nd place winners - (no Rob/Amber and no Kelly/Jon and Colin/Christie) the only 2nd place teams that I liked were Kris and Jon from Season 6 , Frank & Margarita from Season 1
5) My favorite teams - Season 1- Frank & Margarita Season 2- Oswald and Danny (team cha cha), Season 3 - John Vito and Jill, Season 4 - Jon/Al (clowns) , Season 5 - did not like anyone, was glad Chip and Kim won, would pick Charla and Mirna, hated Colin and Christie, Season 6 -Kris/Jon (great karma couple) and Lori/Bolo (wrestlers), Season 7- my team won Season 8 - Family Edition, Season 9- no one I want to see again, I am glad BJ & Tyler won, Season 10 - definitely the Cho brothers, and hopefully no more alliance for them..., no need for Team Kentucky - Rosie took care of them...
if Kris and Jon are definitely chosen, then I will watch it.. I do not want too many of the negative, evil, argumentative folks back... it was not fun to watch..

I would love to see Rob and Amber again. The way Rob played the game was terrific. He aggravates me to no end, but he knows how to play the game. I found myself routing for him and Amber.

I am with many of you. Rob and Ambers - 15 minutes of fame is over. Rob and Amber have milked CBS for enough money already and fame. Saw Rob on some awfull program on SciFi channel. Do they really deserve another million dollars? Amber won it for Surviror All-Stars. Rob knew that he had no chance of winning All-stars why do you think he had the proposal in mind that way he had his butt covered and he could get his hand on the money being married to Amber. I dealt with seeing them again on TAR but to see them on TAR - All Stars? I would rather go clean a horses stall.

I love the idea of having an All-Stars show, but Rob and Amber? Pleeease No! I'm so over them. They've won enough money already! For crying out loud, give other past teams a chance. Yes, brilliant idea for CBS to put them on the show the first time to get new viewers. That plan worked great. But now we have no use for them. CHA, CHA, CHA (season 2) will be plenty enough entertainment for the All-Star Show.
