First Kelly Ripa rants about Clay Aiken, and now Rosie O'Donnell rants about Kelly Ripa. TV is just one big happy family!
This morning on The View, Rosie accused Ripa of being homophobic when she made certain remarks about Aiken and how he acted towards her when he cohosted Live with Regis & Kelly last Friday. Rosie took issue with Ripa's "I don't know where that hand has been" remark (after Aiken put his hand over Ripa's mouth on the show), and said "if that was Mario Lopez, she wouldn't have said the same thing." Oh, I don't know about that. I mean, he did costar with Screech all those years on Saved By The Bell, and we know what he's up to now.
The best part? Ripa called into The View and told Rosie that she has to be more responsible about what she says, and that "not everyone is homophobic." They did the usual "I respect you" and "I love you" showbiz lines, but I truly doubt you'll be seeing Rosie at Kelly's house on Thanksgiving this year.
You can see both videos at the second link above.

ok, then it wasnt just me who thought that what kelly said to caly was a bit out of line, about the whole "i dont know where that hand has been" thing. plain and simple, Kelly Ripa is a BITCH, who takes things too far. i wouldnt be surprised to find out if kelly just wanted a bit of attention, and thats why she made a huge deal out of this on monday.

Plain and simple what Clay did was disrespectful! He would never have done that to Regis! Second of all Rosie was out of line calling it homophobic. Anyone who watches Regis and Kelly knows that Kelly is a bit germaphobic. She wouldn't want anyone's hand on her mouth! It has nothing to do with who Clay has sex with and everything to do with the fact that he was in the audience during the break shaking hands passing God only knows how many cold and flu germs.
I have to wonder what Rosie would have said if she didn't think (know) Clay was gay. Maybe she should put away her rainbow flag and just be a talk show host. Clay didn't need her standing up for him.
Both of them should just report and talk about the news... not become the news!
Oh and Drew... What did Kelly ever do to you? You seem a bit uptight!

Kelly was disrespectful from the moment she and Clay stepped onstage. She has an inflated ego, and she was a little put off by all the Claymates in the audience. If you watch the tape of the show objectively, you will see how shenegatively comments on the fans. Showing the Halloween tape, which was a total dis of Clay, just added fire to the situation. Kelly tries to run the show solo when Regis is not there, and she wouldn't let Clay ask a question. I felt so frustrated for him-and I am not a Claymate! She thinks she is a bigger celebrity than she is. She is never good when Regis is not there, and always acts like she is the most important person in daytime. I will not watch the show with her on anymore. I like Regis, but I cannot stand her whiny voice-she is so needy. I would have done the same thing if I was Clay, and I don't believe she would have reacted the way she did if it was someone else. Rosie is very passionate and I agree with her assessment. This will damage Kelly's so-called career more than Clay's or Rosie's. I feel sorry for Regis. He needs to get a new co-host-someone with sophistication and couth.

Oh come on...I don't want anyone, anyone touching my mouth that I don't know (I also don't want Kramer calling me the n - word but I digress) I really respected Rosie before this but it looks more like she is trying to get attention and become the official gay spokesperson...she's not.

I think Ripa was kind of shutting Clay out of the interview and he was just trying to be funny. Poor guy. Now he's in the middle of a huge mess.
Rosie's always jumping on one bandwagon or the other. That's just her.
Love her or hate her, Rosie has REALLY increased The View's ratings. It's definitely not boring anymore.

Give me a bloody break. If someone other than my wife or mother put their hand over my mouth. I would comment that I wouldn't want that hand over my mouth because I don't know where it has been. Nothing homophobic about that.
Besides how can someone be homophobic towards someone that is not "gay". Did I miss Clay's coming out. He hasn't admitted he is gay, has he. I always thought he was as straight as Ricky Martin and George Clooney.
Rosie can be funny sometimes but her constant personal attacks on people and pointing finger is getting old.
And Rosie likes to call people out for not being up front about things..Hmmmm wasn't she in the closet for a great while before she came out.
And for the record I know Clay is a biggo queen. But who knew he was a top?.....I guess I am sorta impressed

wait, Beth seems to be the only one that's gotten the best part of this?
How can Kelly Ripa be "homophobic" when Clay Aiken hasn't acknowledged he is gay?
In fact, I would argue that it is much more offensive for Rosie to call homophobia here under the assumption that Clay Aiken is gay.
Isn't that akin to outing him?
At the very least it fuels the fire of "CLAY IS GAY"

Kelly's explanation that her arched comment " I don't know where that hand has been" was referring to the fan's hands Clay had touched in audience sounds like such a lie, then her saying it's flue season and she has children just made me roll my eyes. Clay was trying to be funny. Kelly would never shut up. There have been guest that have done worst and she never said anything. She was trying to be cute with her comment and it came off more inapporiate than what Clayu did. Anyway, she the "professional" host, she should be gracious.

I agree with Emily and TomB. Kelly was fighting with Clay and the tension between them was broken when Clay appropriately tried to stop her. Kelly shut Clay out of the question asking and she knew what she was doing. Seems Kelly can dish it out but can't take it. Kelly has a big ugly mouth and blah, blah, blah about her uninteresting life w/3 kids, hubby....boring. I love Regis, but haven't watched the show since Kelly took over for that other loud mouth, that no one misses....what's her name? Oh yea, Kathy Lee!! Regis please do something else your fans can watch you in. Oh and for the record, when someone says to you"I don't know where your hand has been", that is a reference to having your hand scratch your butt, or down your pants!!

Rosie herself would never put up with a young male guest or co-host implying she was talking too much, and then putting his hand over her mouth to shut her up. Can you even imagine Rosie just laughing at such a "joke"? No, she would have a come back response far more cutting than Ripa came up with. And that's why a male guest would be much less likely to do that to Rosie. But what if some particularly clueless guy did? And what if that particularly clueless guy was Black? And Rosie made some cutting "witty" response. Wouldn't that make her a racist? Would it be appropriate if Kelly suggested on K and R show that Rosie was racist? I too am sick of Rosie's personal attacks on people. I think she's a great entertainer, but she's on a rampage, and I think it's because she's trying to cover herself for her inappropriate, nosy attacks on Star Jones, who she months later displaced. Some have implied Rosie is racist for her comments about Star. Would it be okay with Rosie if Kelly suggested that on her show? Rosie would never speak to her again. I don't want to Rosie bash, cause I do like her, but enough is enough. No one expects Kelly to stand up for herself. I am really glad she did, and hopes this is only the beginning of a tougher Kelly Ripa.

Let's leave the whole disrespectful act of the hand on the mouth issue on the back burner for a moment. Rosie has once again opened her mouth without engaging her brain. Now sure she could have just gone the whole "it was a playful act and you were too uptight about it", but to play the homophobic card was indeed irresponsible.
Every time I use a restroom I usually see, more times than not, someone flushing then walking out without washing up. I don't even like shaking hands because of this, never mind someone putting theirs one someone mouth. For Rosie to cry wolf like that, only waters down real claims of homophobia.

When I heard Kelly's reaction to Clay I thought that she overreacted and and I also took it as a homophobic comment. I'm with Rosie on this one.

I was a bit surprised that Kelly did not let it go. I did take it as a homophobic comment but he was just joking around and she just should have kept it to herself instead of blowing it way out of proportion. I kinda like Kelly a little less now.

#2. Kelly never did anything to me. i think she over-reacted. why do i seem uptight, because i could see myself making the same mistake as clay, doing somethign trying to be funny, then have someone be all seriuous and make me feel stupid.. and i give props to #5, LMAO! hahahahaha.. she can dish it out, but she cant take any of her own medicine. as for homophobic, i dont think so. anyway,,, this really has no effect on my life whatsoever, so if kelly wants to over-react, fine. if clay wants to do things he thinks are funny, go for it(i sure as hell would)

Kathy Lee probably put a curse on the co-host chair that who ever sits there next to "REGG" that they will 1) Irriate Regis fans 2) Have a big mouth and put foot in it often 3) Talk about how great their kids are, sex with their hubby, and name drop who they had dinner with the night before 4) Be boring 5) Be anorexic 6) Wear a fake tan on legs with 5 inch spikey heels 7) Constantly stare at themselves in the monitor 8) Their over-blown ego grows bigger each day on t.v. 9)Dress and act cutesy like they are age 15 10) Kiss and hug the handsome men who guest on the show 11) Puff your chest out (Ha Ha Kelly does that and it is so gross) 12) Touch ReGG's leg, hand, hair, look for lint on his clothes.......ugh ....did I miss anything?

If Ripa feels Aiken disrespected her, why not call him and tell him point blank? She called "The View" within minutes of Rosie's comment. She could have confronted Aiken after her show. Was there a need to air her feelings in public? Ripa's acting like a diva.
