(S02E12) It seems we have conflicting reports on what's going to happen to the remainder of the season for Prison Break. On one hand we have a report that we'll see the show continue without interruption for a while longer, while on the other hand the network is saying that next week is the "fall finale." So which is it really? Maybe it's both, and the show will just continue past this "fall finale" into the next week?
Anyway, I digress. Let's get to this episode.
I'll say right up front that this wasn't exactly a best for the series. I've said all along that I don't find the background story to Lincoln's crime interesting at all, and that includes Linc and Michael's father's story. It just seemed poorly placed and uninteresting to me. Or I could just be a cold-hearted bastard, since I didn't find that whole moment sad at all. Alright I take that back -- I did find it sad, though not in the emotional sense.
How the hell did C-Note think he'd get away with running around with his daughter who needs a constant prescription? While I feel sorry for C-Note the most, his plans for escaping with his family are ridiculous. Here he is, freshly broken out of prison, sweaty and still wearing clothes that make him stand out as suspicious, while his wife and daughter are wearing fresh clothes and seemingly unaware that C-Note really doesn't have a good plan in place. Really the only way his story is going to end properly is when he gives himself up and lets his family live without being on the run.
I'm glad they're getting more into Michael's guilt over too many people being killed. It's one of those parts of the story that they can't simply brush aside. I do have to wonder if they're slowly setting us up to see Michael take the fall in the end, going to prison for the crimes he committed, or worse, getting killed saving who he can. I mean let's face it -- he has committed serious crimes here. Several people wouldn't have died if it weren't for Michael letting inmates free from Fox River. In the end, that's going to be unforgivable to not only the law but, most likely, to Michael's conscience.
Random thought: Where's Haywire? OK it's not all that random, but I'm going to keep asking this until they show what's going on.
T-Bag is one smart sonofabitch, no matter how crazy he may be. He's one of the characters I'm glad to see stick around, and really I think the show wouldn't be the same at all without him. Some of the others I could live without. I'm glad to see Bellick Brad get his in the end, and for T-Bag to be the one behind it is just perfect.
I have to admit I was half expecting Mahone to come popping up from behind a boulder with a bazooka and take out Sucre's plane with a surface-to-air missile. They still threw us another unrealistic element, though, with Mahone somehow losing Michael and Linc in a car chase in the middle of a desert. That whole ending scene with the crash was a letdown other than leaving us with a pretty good cliffhanger into next week.

it was a good episode. a problem i have was ending the dad dying so soon. i guess he wasn't too important to the cause and needed to die instead of the other key characters.
i don't know how any many, or anyone for that matter, uses closed captioning for their shows, but i've noticed from time to time, extra dialogue in the captioning that may have been said at one point, but just shows up in the captioning text.
tonight’s prison break was one of those times. there was an extra bit of dialogue during the burial scene. i didn't tape it, so i can't put it here. its nothing important, just thought i'd put it out there.

I was anazed at Sarah's escape. Pulling the plug out of the tub was inventive... but how did she get out of her restraints?
Bellick got what he deserved, but why is the dastardly T-Bag still runing loose.
Yeah... the story of a courageous veteran getting screwed is tough... and his wife getting captured sucks!
Compelling drama!

Re: Fall Finale: Don't get tripped up by Fox's marketing. PB has a full season. They are advertising the last 2 new episodes for this year(2006). We'll get the rest of the season in 2007.
I too thought that it was too soon to kill off the Father. It would have been good if he was there to help out with the Conspiracy.
And Sara: she's like the Anti-Veroniduh!

What the blogger meant Erica was that the show is/was supposed to take a break after next week's episode with the rest of the season picking up next year. BUT a story broke a few days ago that fox would instead just run all 22 eps straight as they do with 24.

Re: closed captioning - yes, I noticed, too. I didn't tape it, but the one line that struck me was - and someone correct me if I've got this backwards - Linc saying, "He wasn't there for us," and Michael responding, "He was...in a way." More poignant without the dialogue, I think.
Surreal when that happens with CC. Kind of like watching thought bubbles. Also interesting when actors deviate from scripted dialogue (I assume CC is done from a production script, so final-take improvisations aren't CC'd).

Rumor on those internets say that Bellick get's to bunk with Avocado back at Fox River.
...Seems like Bellick will "get it in the end".
(Yeah, I'm the funniest man alive)

There's a break either way, it's just whether it will be a short one or a long one.
From the article linked in the post you linked to:
"We do have a little break because we will be airing two BCS [college Bowl Championship Series] games and a two-hour 24 premiere in January (in the Prison Break time period)," Beckman said, but it will run straight through after that."

Bellick wouldn't go back to Fox River, since the crime was committed in Kansas. Murdering a security guard isn't exactly a federal offense.
But in this distorted reality (Fox), I'm sure it could end up that way.

I was struck by the fact that the government is erasing Kellerman (a la Sandra Bullock in "The Net"). I have a feeling that this is going to make Kellerman very angry. The spoilers have indicated that Michael and Linc get unexpected help from someone - could it be Kellerman? I think so.

Sarah. Close captioning is not done from a production script, it is done from an early edit of the show. That is why when you have "divergent" dialogue sometimes. Later in the editing process the dialogue in the captioning was removed or changed/rerecorded, sometimes for standards and practices purposes, sometimes for stylistic decisions. You will also see music changes. The edit that the captioners get has the music the oroducers "hope" to use, often times if they can't get rights clearances they will have to change to something else. This used to happen a lot with the opening and closing music on Crossing Jordan.

The Kansas police don't seem to realise that Bellick made his call from his hospital bed presumably when Geary is already dead. He was surrounded by cops at the time anyway.
Wouldn't the hotel staff have noticed a crazed, bloodied one-armed man sneaking around or at least checked the CCTV. What about the prozzers? There must be some record of Geary calling them.
Instead they have the indisputable evidence of a dead hand pointing to a receipt.
Sometimes suspending your disbelief is just too hard. Still love the series though.

Didn't anyone else notice the brand of cigarettes on T-Bag's receipt?
Morleys.
The brand the Cigarette Smoking Man preferred on THE X-FILES!
Clearly, Agents Mulder & Scully will show up in the series finale to save the day!
