One of my favorite features every month in Esquire is the "Things You Don't Know About Women" list. I've learned more about women from reading that list than I would going on a thousand dates. Then again, they're all celebrities who do the list, so maybe they have no practical use in the real world, but they're fun to read. And they seem pretty logical. I wonder if these women know that most men actually agree with everything they say?
This month's list comes from Kidnapped star Dana Delany. Among the bits of wisdom: "Text messenging is for children and people who are having affairs. Don't do either" and "We need you. Because a vibrating piece of plastic can't kiss." I'm not sure I agree with #5 though, "Never wear cologne." I mean, come on. I wear cologne every time I go out. Ladies, what do you say?
The part about this list that makes you cringe isn't even in the list, it's the blurb at the very end. "Dana Delany stars as Ellie Cain on the drama Kidnapped, which airs Saturdays on NBC." Ouch.

Every single thing on that list was just plain stupid. I hate reading things like this from people I actually thought might be interesting only to find they are this shallow. I just need to not read these kind of things.

I agree with Ms. Delaney on the cologne, mostly because most guys don't know when enough is enough, so it's best to just stay away altogether.

You can see the remaining episodes of Kidnapped on NBC.com and they are really good. This show wasn't given a chance and put in a bad time slot. Check the episodes out you wont be dissapointed.

I disagree with Dana on the cologne issue. I especially love when a man drapes his jacket over my shoulders and the scent of his cologne lingers. Very sexy. Otherwise, I agree with all of her statements.

I'm an Esquire subscriber, and I find that the lists that women make for this feature tend to be dead on. So, yes, men: you should pay attention. But, mainly, you should really just be asking the women in your own lives.
As for cologne on men? No, I don't like it. I like the way men smell naturally. But then I don't particularly like cologne on women, either.

I liked Delany's list and have to agree with Beth regarding cologne. Too many men seem to go beyond splashing a bit on and actually go so far as to marinate their bodies in the stuff.
Is it wrong of me to say that reading Dana's list makes me really want her even more than I already did? Oh hell, right or wrong, I don't care!
