(S02E11) Finally, the accursed hand is gone! I know, I know. It seems like such a small detail, but a hand sewed on by a doggy doctor has been bugging me on this show for weeks now, and to see it gone, no matter how it happened, is just a little satisfying I guess.
When we saw Michael make that idiotic move in the sporting good store, I was finding myself getting increasingly disappointed with how stupid Michael was getting. Thankfully the writers seem to be showing a side of Michael that had to come eventually, and I'm glad to see that he knows he has to account for what's gone wrong so far in his attempt to save the life of one person.
There are more shows that should take a page from what the writers do in this episode with Michael. How many shows have you seen where the innocent are taken so lightly in the interest of saving a few people? Sometimes even a short scene like Michael in a church can make acts such as these seem more human.
I don't get it. When we last saw Lincoln and his son and father, the would-be killer was right outside the door, getting orders to take them out. Cut to this week, and suddenly he's walking up the driveway. Did I miss something? If not, that was just poorly done.
Random thought: What's up with Haywire?
I do feel like an idiot for once making the connection of "Bolshoi Booze" with vodka. It wasn't until the comments on that post that I realized others figured out the real meaning very early on.
Definitely one good thing I'm finding I like about this show is how plans change. To see that money of Westmooreland's get spent by T-Bag and Roy is just one example of how even the best laid plans can go to hell.
It's amazing to me how easily T-Bag seems to be able to intimidate everyone, even with only one hand and no weapon other than a champagne bottle. Maybe it's the cocked eye of his.
Random thought: Is it just me or was that just really odd to see Lincoln casually come out from behind that shack where Michael and Sucre were?
The sad thing about Sara's storyline is that we all know she's not going to die, so what was supposed to be a big cliffhanger has left us (well, me at least) not really wondering if she'll make it or not. Still, will her would-be drowner have a change of heart somehow? And will he take the fall for letting her go?
Quote of the episode:
Call Girl: "A Cleveland what?"
Roy: "Don't worry -- I'll talk you through it. And we've got a glass coffee table right here."

Uhm, what??? You do know that he got the vials at the supply store. They were never nitroglycerin, they were sugar water (I think) and when he was found out, the guy was going to kill him, and Sucre came in and saved him. Did you watch the episode??!

A few episodes back, Michael was trying to get to his stash of nitroglycerin hidden in an arboretum. But the FBI beat him to it. He needed the fake replicas to replace those he lost before.

Joey Geraci do you watch the show?
He was asking how he got the original NG, not the fakes. Remeber earlier Malone almost caught Michael when he was going for the real NG at the botanical gardens.

Totally my bad there actually. I typed that section up about the nitro before the reveal and meant to take it out. I removed it earlier.

I believe the idiot move Keith was referring to was the lame grab and dash out of the store not why he needed the stuff.

Why has this show had more violence and torture since they all got out of prison ?!?!? Enough already.
Lots of Questions: How does T-bag lose his hand and not a single drop of blood ?? Michael robs a store, yet no police come looking for him? The shooter being outside in the driveway made no sense. How does Linc not hear the guy get shot, and fall down, but hears the shell casing hit the floor?
Did anyone else think Mahone was thinking suicide? That phone call didn't make much sense to me in any other context.
As for Sara, guess you didn't stay for the coming attractions for next week??

I couldn't agree more about how T-Bag intimidates people. If it were me I would've cold-cocked the little bastard as soon as I saw him at the door. Why is every so afraid of this guy???

I know the show is full of ridiculous moments like T. Bag taking off his hand and being ok. Those moments I can suspend my disbelief and keep watching but once you start having a prison guard backing away from an unarmed one armed beaten down man half your size then it just ruins everything. I think it's time to stop watching this show.

I think Lincoln needs to make a stop at the local Wal-Mart to purchase some damned undershirts.
Other than that, I've left the plausibility of this show behind long ago - but it's still entertaining, which is mystifying to me. Normally I can't excuse these things, but Prison Break just keeps me watching.
I really liked Michael's conflict over all the things he's done, and the feeble snatch-and-grab was a perfect lead-in to this. I was thinking at that moment that he's gotten a little too fast and loose with the lawbreaking, and clearly that was the intent. The double-meaning conversation with the priest was a nice bit of dialog ("surrender yourself to god" "If I surrender now it'll all be for nothing").
Keith: definitely-definitely "plan" on proofing paragraph seven ;) .

As far as being scared of T-Bag, I think it was more the shocking realization to Roy what was going on - here's a guy he just got finished torturing and left for dead/cops standing at the door, obviously crazy enough to tear off his own hand. Factor in that Roy is a moron, and I can make the stretch for that one.
I'll say another thing about this show, though, it really has down the last-minute-escape-and-be-miles-away formula.. I almost don't even notice when it happens anymore.

Regarding T-bag, a desperate man with nothing to lose is always scary--it's best to give up the money. Whether they be one-armed, homeless, or a drag-queen...trust.
I just hope they're on that plane when it takes off.

Was I the only person that thought this was an excellent episode? I agree with Tucker about leaving plausability behind. And when you do that, this show is great! T-bag is creepy and intimidating, and I think he's good at manipulating people so that they irrationally (or quite rationally) fear him.
Seriously, Lincoln is DUMB. When his father was discussing the "company" and how they're trying to take it down, Lincoln was all "So what? How will that help me?" Duh Lincoln! If they expose the company then they'll clear your name. Dumb as a rock.
Does anyone know why both Michael and his father said that they've seen each other before? And it was weird how all of a sudden Lincoln walks out from behind the shack. Unless they were hiding until the other guys were gone.
Keith, I don't agree with you about Sarah. I think that on this show they would have no problem killing her.

Michael saw his father when he was posing as a reporter or something when they were preparing for Lincoln's execution. he was the mysterious "other guy in the room" in the first season. i don't remember details exactly, but i think he was supposed to be a witness to the execution.

Jenn - that is true, but Michael didn't see him in the room. Lincoln saw him, and when he confronted Michael he said he didn't notice anyone else.
And in the promos for next week, Michael seems to be flipping out about it a little more than simply "hey, I've seen that guy before." He looks like he's genuinely upset/afraid/pissed.

Kevinc, I suppose Linc, his dad & LJ didn't hear the guys getting shot because the "plant" had a silencer. What I would like to know is, how Sucre manage to get to the shack where Michael was. Did he hitch a ride there? Did he walk? Did he jog? By whatever means Sucre got there, I was so glad he showed up, 'cause Michael was in some serious trouble. One thing about this show is that in order to enjoy it, reality has to be thrown out the window.

Am I the only one confused by WHAT exactly was in the vials? I thought that Michael bought "reel oil" (for fishing reels) at the sporting goods store; yet when one of the "gangster guys" tastes it, he says that it's sugar water. WTF?!?! WHY would Michael switch the contents of the vials? Wouldn't reel oil be a better fake from nitro than sugar water?
Personally, I don't think Michael's being stupid, I think he's just desperate and painted into a corner. I know that *I've* done some pretty stupid things when I was desperate; thankfully it was just for my IT support job, and not when I was on the run from the FBI! ;)

In an interview, this is what Wentworth Miller said about his character Michael in Prison Break. "When Michael went into prison, he was the man with *The Plan*. Now that he is on the run, he has become a man with *A Plan*"... Watching the unexpected events that are constantly occurring since the escape, Michael has the burden to continuously come up with *a plan*.This has to be heavy on the brain... And just a little side comment here- I think Wentworth Miller was perfectly cast as Michael Scofield.

Some random thoughts...
I was thinking the same thing about the reel oil. If he DID switch it out he'd have an awful lot of work to do - can you imagine trying to wash the oil out of those tiny little vials?
The show is so far-fetched - but I think that's what makes it great. At least they show the human side of the characters now and then - especially Michael.
Yes - where did Sucre come from? And later Linc?! That was pretty funny!
Linc IS as dumb as a rock sometimes - but so nice to look at ;) And Michael is even nicer!
Did it drive anyone else crazy that for a number of episodes after the escape Michael wore a white suit and a blue baseball cap? Talk about standing out?!!!
The characters really could do a bit more to disguise themselves. Sarah could dye or chop off her hair - or both. I guess the guys have never heard of wigs. They make some pretty realistic ones these days... At least t-bag made the attempt to alter his appearance a little.
Speaking of t-bag...he chewed his own hand off! I think this guy is going to be around for a long time! Ugh!!!

Just watch the show again and come up with some wild guess :P
During the confession, Michael mentioned that he had watched a man bleeding to death. I guess that may be have something to do with Mike's dad.
