Sissy Biggers, formerly of Ready, Set, Cook! and The Victory Garden has her own online-only show called "A Big Life with Sissy Biggers." The webisodes are the result of a licensing agreement between NBC Universal and MSN. The online series will feature cooking and food tips, plus other domestic matters. The site will also feature an extended look at subjects covered on the show for people who want to learn more about what Biggers has covered during the episode. There will also be a forum where viewers can share their own ideas and upload photos.
I don't watch shows dedicated to domestic living or entertaining guests, but I've never understood what the difference is between an online show that offers a forum for users and a television program that offers the same kind of forum. I don't think webisodes are a bad idea at all, I actually love the concept of original online content, but people can interact about a show online whether it's online or on television. This new series is just one of many examples of an online program that boasts being "interactive," as if creating a messageboard is something you could only do for an exclusive online show.
So here's a question for those of you with more tech knowledge than I: what would a truly interactive web series consist of?

I'm commenting on Sissy Biggers suggestion of tipping people during holidays. A letter carrier specifcally ones that walk from house to house. It's a very hazardous job. Tripping in yard, because things are in the pathway to mail receptacle. DOGS! Every owner thinks their dog is friendly and won't bite. Not true. Owners don't think and just open the door to grab the mail and we have to back off to get away. Owners think we over react, but we can lose our job for putting ourselves in an unsafe act. But some of us do try to appease the customers with their dogs and we put our job at risk. We had a carrier have their foot sliced by a knife left in a yard. Out of work and a loss of pay while not performing their job to the fullest. Another carrier fell through a porch and was out with loss of pay. We had 4 carriers out because of knee injurys with mail slots at the bottom of doors or on the side of doors. The people get much more mail than can go through their slot and you are stuck in that position much longer than needed. Also they usually have smaller than magazine width and now you have to roll (not fold) the mail into the tiny slot (many times). Customers do not realize we are timed at our job everyday. It is like a production line. We are supposed to service each mail receptacle in one swop, not 4, 5, 6 and ect. I feel we deserve more of an appropriate tip than $20. A doorman can expect up to $80, then so should we. We deliver packages up to 70 lbs. and now the added service of pick-up packages all at no extra cost or time to our route (so our supervisors think). We put up a lot in your yards hoses, toys, pinecones and ect. We also had a carrier break a foot over a pinecone. This all happened at the station I work at. So please be more kind when thinking of us and the service we provide through out the year.
