Mulder is returning to television for a pair of shows in development with Showtime. The first project, an untitled drama about a novelist with a kid, a drug problem and sex addiction, has not been officially picked up as a series. Duchovny will, however, be starring in and executive producing the pilot for the network. The second series, a comedy entitled Yoga Man, will be written by Duchovny and Bart Freundlich. Yoga Man is being described as Shampoo, but in a yoga studio.
Given Duchovny's cinematic track record, the move back to television is probably wise. If his guest appearances on The Larry Sanders Show are any indication, than a Duchovny comedy would be nothing short of brilliant.
The new non-Duchovny roster over at Showtime includes the US remake of BBC's Manchild with Kevin Smith and John Corbett and Insatiable, the story of a small town where everyone suffers from an addiction. With this line-up plus Weeds, you'd think all the programmers over at Showtime were self-obsessed LA-based baby boomers with coke habits. You never know.

Has Duchovny ever considered playing a paranoid FBI agent who investigates paranormal/just-plain-strange cases? He might do well in that, especially if they team him with a hot and skeptical red-headed female partner.
Just a thought.

This is a win-win-win---good for Duchovny, Showtime, & his fans.
However much I've enjoyed his comic deadpan & subtle acting, his script writing's outstanding.
As a fan, THIS is what I've been waiting for. Now, if Duchovny could have his own ongoing project-oriented-but-not-project-specific blog so I don't have to go over hill or dale to find out about his projects .....
