(S03E18) And we're back to find out who is going to face off in the big three dance finale next week. It's been a crazy season for Dancing with the Stars. We had strange eliminations (Vivica), stranger non-eliminations (Jerry), and the two week adventure of Saragate. All things considered though, I think the voters picked a good final three. You could make a case for Willa to still be in the competition, but Emmitt, Joey, and Mario are all deserving.Mario & Karina's tango was picked for the encore. That was a good choice, although any of the performances from last night could have been chosen. It was a great night overall. The big Bond extravaganza followed that up. Tom pointed out Caterina Murino in the audience, though they didn't bother to interview her. I don't know why. The results show has time to burn. After the awkward introduction the pros came out to perform to the Bond theme. It was nice, but not up to some of the big productions that they have featured on the results show this season.
We should have seen the promos for the DWTS tour coming. Harry Hamlin, Joey McIntyre, Willa Ford, and Lisa Rinna were joined by four of the pros to dance to "Footloose". I think that offered a pretty good picture of what people can expect from the tour. I think those that go to the show will have a good time.
The musical guest for this week was The Pet Shop Boys. They performed West End Girls, which is still a great song. It was one of my favorite musical performances of the season. Unfortunately, it was accompanied by what was one of my least favorite dance performances of the series. After the SWOP demonstration last week, they follow it up with these two guys? I didn't like it at all.
There was a segment on how the media has been covering the show, but one thing about it struck me as odd. When did Rachel Ray become "the media"? I've decided that Rachel is the younger, prettier, femaler, William Shatner. Turn on a camera, and she'll be there. Which isn't necessarily bad, she's always entertaining. She's just everywhere.
In the end, as most expected, Joey & Edyta were sent home. It was a great run and I think Joey did well for himself here. The video they prepared for his sendoff was nice. And that leaves us with Mario & Karina vs. Emmitt and Cheryl next week. Each team will perform three dances, and the prop department will forget to even bring out paddles 1 through 8. So the ultimate winner will be picked by the fan vote. I think Emmitt may just win this thing. It's the beginning of the Cheryl dynasty.

Not sure why it cut off the rest of my post, but my sad face was about Joey being eliminated.
I was rooting for him, but I figured that he was the odd man out this week. I'd have love to seen he and Mario go head to head, but Emmitt is so stinking likeable and fun to watch that although he doesn't have the skills like Mario and Joey,(not that he's a slouch or anything) but he might actually win this with his popularity... and Cheryl's dynasty might actually be underway!

Rachael Ray has done a few segments on about DWTS on her new show. She took NY style hotdogs to the set for the dancers.

Joey looked like he was trying out for a 1940's version of the Village People.

Thanks for making mention of Willa Ford -- who should have lasted longer in the competition. Leaving it up to the public is not always right. Mario Lopez is the best dancer and should win and now he has become the underdog.

As much as I like Cheryl (I think she's really hot, between Cheryl and Ashley...moving along now...) and Emmitt, I'm rooting for Mario. I've rooted against him all season, but I don't think it will be good for Emmitt and Cheryl to win. That'll give Cheryl two wins in three seasons, and she wasn't even on the first season! She'd be the "better" teacher/partner, and she'll either leave (why not leave on top?) or get partnered with someone like Master P or Tucker next season. I don't want to see either of those, so I'm sucking it up this week and rooting for Mario.

How random has that "president of Zambia" been in these last two shows? Not only did they call him out on Tuesday, but asking him his opinion last night?
Wikipedia says he is an "avid ballroom dancer" so I guess it wasn't that random. Still I had trouble working in Dancing with the Stars and the Ex-President of Zambia.
