Anyone else been watching F/X lately? During the past few episodes of Nip/Tuck, there have been nothing but advertisements for the new Courtney Cox-Arquette drama Dirt. The show premieres this coming January but what about The Shield? Ever since it's mid-season finale last March, there's only been one promo for the rest of the season and it aired during the season premiere of Rescue Me -- that was just over five months ago! I always thought Vic Mackey and Co. were coming back in January and that's clearly not the case now.
Dirt has already received a full season 13-episode order, and assuming F/X sticks to it's current trend of only airing new shows on Tuesday nights at 10PM, we won't see the remaining season five Shield eps until at least March or possibly April. Boooooo.
I'll be honest. Dirt might be the first F/X series that I'm not excited about. The promos that have been airing just don't do it for me. Add in news that they've cast Rick Fox (Rick Fox?!?), the ex-Boston Celtic and L.A. Laker, to guest star and I think I'm even less excited. At least The Shield is getting a sixth season. There's something to smile about.

I really hate the one with CC coming out of the swimming pool. I know she is supposed to be cover in ink but honestly it looks more like she is wearing a black lace gown. I always think, "Why is she wearing a black lace gown in the pool?" no matter how many times I see it!

I've been an avid FX fan since Season 2 of The Shield and during those years, I've learned that they advertise the heck out of any new shows they have coming up, with the next show usually getting some love during the premier of the following show. There has been a teaser or two for The Shield if memory serves, but it is usually just enough to get you salivating and anxious for the return.
FX used to run new shows on a Tues/Wed rotation with established shows for a few week overrun, but I don't know that they are planning that again.

My name is PAUL BARRESI, former enforcer for private investigator to the stars, ANTHONY PELLICANO. Several years ago, I pitched the idea for a TV series about inside the Enquirer, entitled TABS. I e-mailed my pitch to Joe Becker, producer and director for the West Wing, based in Washington D.C. He loved the idea and promised me that he would get it into the hands of the right people. Needless to say, when I read that Courtney Love was doing a thing called, DIRT, I smelled a rat.
I attempted to reach Matthew Carnahan too many times to count. He never got back to me.
