I think that The Internet Movie Database is a fantastic resource. Really, it's invaluable when you write for a television blog. But they've made some changes recently that I just hate. They started adding a ton of info for specific episodes of TV series and for each season of a TV series, which on the surface sounds like a good idea. But in the process of doing that they've buried the main cast list for the TV shows! You used to be able to go to a TV show, say a show like Outlaws that I did a story about recently, and see the cast list right there on the front page. But no more. I spent about an hour trying to find the damn cast list, but got various dead ends, including "Full Cast and Crew" and "Episodes Cast." You'd think the main cast list would be there, but you'd be wrong. You have to click on "Season" and then the episode title. It's not like that for every show, but it is for many of them.
To quote Nancy Kerrigan, why, why, why??

Thank you. Whoever is responsible for this mess (PLEASE don't tell me the person's name) needs to be banned from the internet for life. imdb is now the poster child for 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Totally agree - at first I thought they were just taking down the cast lists all together. The regular cast should be on the main page, and the supporting players of specific episodes should be with the episode pages. Duh. Is it really that hard to figure out? If someone wants to start a petition, I'll sign.

Just look at the page for ER. The cast is sorted by the number of episodes they've appeared in. That's why Nurse Chuny is #3 on the list (!), far above the current stars like Goran Visnjic and Maura Tierney. It's like the whole site is run by programmers and there's no quality control at all.

I love IMDB, i'm on the message boards constantly everyday! It's my source of discussion for all my tv shows. The day after i watched my shows i go discuss that show on the respective board. Same with movies. It's awesome. As for the annoying part i guess you're right. And i also hate now that you have a movie cast list and their in alphabetic order instead of star-power! That's retarded. You don't want to know who are the extras in the next Brad Pitt movie. you wanna know who co-stars!

I have been thinking about this for a while. There should be the main cast (as listed on the show - everyone that comes before guest stars) then guest stars should also show on the main page based on star power (maybe a ranking system based on hits to their page). If I am watching an old episode of the Lois and Clark, and I see that Peter Boyle guest starred, I don't want to search through every episode, just show me a list of the most popular guest stars.

they know why people use the site (usually to answer the "where else have i seen this guy/girl?" question)... the more clocks you have to go through, the more chances that their advertises have to try and grab your attention to something else....
