So I'm reading Michael Ausiello's column over at TV Guide.com, and he mentions that Michael Vartan was very, very close to joining the cast of one of his top five favorite shows...but then he doesn't mention the show's name! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...Therefore, until he does reveal the name of the show and why Vartan didn't join, we're just going to have to sit here and guess. As a reader at the site points out, Ausiello's favs include Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Lost, and Battlestar Galactica. The most obvious choice would be Lost, because, like Vartan's old show Alias, it's produced by J.J. Abrams. But is that too obvious? Not that it can't be obvious, of course. It would make sense that Abrams would offer him a role. I don't watch the other shows so I'm not sure what role he could have on those.

Really Joel? You kid? Hell, I don't. It really does look like he plugs any show he gets offered a guest spot on. I'm not saying they are necessarily bad shows, but if he gets a spot on a show, he'll say how fantastic the show is. Same goes for Kristin of E!.
It could just be that Michael gets so many offers to guest spot on shows that he's able to pick and choose among them all.
Am I jealous that they get on these shows? Hell yeah!

Really all Ausiello's column and posts are long massages of his ego. He so desparately wants to be cool and loved that he will pull stunts like this all the time. His schtick is getting old. A chimp with a typewriter could do a better job.

You can rest assured it wasn't ER. Know which one it was but would never tell in a million years.

Considering he works for TV Guide, that's enough admission of his quality. Can't say the same for most of you guys here though!

@Christian,
He didn't say that he doesn't watch any of those shows, and last time I checked TVSquad covers all of those shows extensively.
And why is someone comparing TVSquad and TVGuide? I'd rather visit this site than TVGuide which is excessively bloated and offers little info.

Oooh, it might have been Battlestar, as fellow Alias star Carl Lumbly was offered a part and took it.
If someone knows, please tell!!

Michael Vartan has not sought out a role on any TV show since Alias ended and only appeared on KC because he was asked by a friend. He was offered a role in B&S which he promptly turned down. As usual, Ausiello doesn't have all the facts. End of story.
