I just got off the phone with Dino Stamatopoulos, creator of Moral Orel (look for the interview soon), and since I just finished talking with someone for over an hour about animation and comedy I thought I would indulge myself with a kind of "fantasy post" I've been wanting to do for a long time.

Below you will find a schedule that shows how I would program Adult Swim if it were its own twenty-four hour network. I guess the time zone would be CST, since I live in Minnesota, but don't worry about that, it's just for fun.

Since this only exists in my head, I didn't worry about whether it was actually possible for these shows to air on a Turner network. Also, I included both animated and live-action shows, because I like the idea of an Adult Swim network being about good shows, animated or otherwise. For the daytime hours, it's mostly animation, though I'm not sure I'm crazy about having Tiny Toons in there, but it seemed like a good fit. I also dedicated Sunday daytime to anime, because I think there would be an audience for it, and not because I actually watch anime (I admire it, but I don't really watch it that much).

I'd also like to see what you guys would come up with, so please share.

Sundays

Sundays from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM would be dedicated to anime, with kid-friendly stuff shown in the morning, and action stuff more suitable to teens in the afternoon and early evenings. I would list specific shows, but I don't know nearly enough about anime to do that, so just fill in those blanks with your own imagination.

9:00 PM to 1:00 AM would be dedicated to the current Adult Swim Sunday lineup that exists in the real world right now. That's right, keep everything (except Pee-Wee's Playhouse) and as the schedule changes, rotate in reruns of these series:

Also, toss in other shows like The Maxx, The Head, Aeon Flux, and The Brothers Grunt, if those are any good. I never watched them. No Daria or Celebrity Deathmatch, though, sometimes a man has to put his foot down.
