(S02E03) This episode worries me. After a really strong start to this season, I thought this was kind of a drop down. However, the same thing happened when Grey's Anatomy first premiered and we all know that show bounced back. The reason I make that comparison is because Grey's isn't solely about Meredith anymore and What About Brian is shaping up to be more than just Brian now. But that makes sense I suppose. To work in the long-term (and I hope What About Brian will), a show needs to have multiple story-lines with multiple characters. Brian is still going to be the focus of this show but it looks like we're going to start getting a ton more info on everyone else. This week was a whole lot of Dave.Obviously, Adam had a tough go in this episode too. Marjorie did return for a brief scene but only to inform Adam that she was moving to Minneapolis to take a pediatrician's position that opened up. I'm not sure how they're going to resolve that but if I had to guess, she'll end up sticking around after Brian kisses her again. That has to happen at some point, right?
Another reason this episode worried me a little was the ease at which Brian and Adam made up at the end. It took a few punches getting thrown, but that was it. They're all "buddy buddy" again. As long as Marjorie isn't around, the tension between Brian and Adam is what keeps this show going. So if they've made up, Marjorie needs to come back in a big way. We can't have both... but they tried in this episode and what did it become? The Dave and Deena hour. The show is not called What About Dave and Deena.
What about them though? Well, Deena finally found out about Dave and Suzanne. She reserved a hotel room for them to celebrate the sale of the new video game, but when Dave showed up he was asking for Suzanne. Bad idea since Deena answered the door. Dave came clean and Deena told him it was over. That kind of ticked me off. This is partly her fault too and now she's angry that Dave fooled around on the side just like she did? Lousy transition but it seems like the tension between Adam and Brian has been moved to D and D instead. That's not working for me.
I'm not sure how I'm feeling about this show after this episode. I still like it a lot, but I think I liked it even better during the first season. I liked Angelo better than I liked Jimmy and Ivy (they really don't contribute much) and I liked Brian constantly sulking over Marjorie while sleeping around with tons of other women you knew he'd never end up with. It was funnier, more upbeat. This episode was just such a downer, so depressing. Where do they go next? Needs more Marjorie, ASAP.

I LOVED "What About Brian" but getting rid of the Angelo and Marjorie character is ridiculous. Without Marjorie...there is no love triangle and quite frankly the show gets pretty boring. At the end of season 1..I couldn't wait for season 2 to see what happened with Marjorie/Brian/Adam. Three episodes into Season 2 and I'm bored. Cancel the damn show its so boring now. The writers should be canned.
