(S10E06) Whenever I watch this race I wonder what I would do in certain situations. Who would I bring with me? What relationship would I put at risk? What would I do for those I befriended in the race? This week's episode included a predictable moment to warm the heart and a little something unexpected to chill those of you who were ever thinking of taking your love on a race with you.The big issue of tonight is saving David and Mary who were marked for elimination. Unless they come in first they face a 30 minute penalty. Of course this is the time to bring out the first fast forward. David and Mary are trailing in sixth place at the time. The Cho brothers run interference for David and Mary so that they can take the fast forward.
The road block involves climbing around the skyscraping Kuwait towers. Once again Sarah takes the challenge while Peter cheers from a safe distance. The other teams are aware of it and worried for Sarah, while he is completely unconcerned. The second part of the challenge involves putting together an Arabic puzzle and finding someone to translate it.
The teams have to choose between filling bags with camel feed or driving camels through a remote control jockey which looks like an evil gremlin perched on the poor camel's back. Everyone chose the camel feed option except for Tyler and James and Lyn and Karlyn.
Pretty much everything Peter says makes me want to punch him in the face. When he and Sarah get lost he makes it seem as if it is entirely Sarah's fault.
Meanwhile David and Mary complete the fast forward and head to the pit stop. Dustin and Kandice are the second team followed by Rob and Kimberley, Lyn and Karlyn, the Cho brothers and Tyler and James. Peter and Sarah are a distant, distant last and are eliminated. Peter says that he has realized that they are not a good couple. Sarah says that Peter is not nurturing or kind. Wow, no tears for me this episode but watching the two walk away with distance between them was a pretty damning testament as to what this race can do.

Did anybody else notice something weird about the start times? It has always seemed to me that the teams start 12 hours after the time that they arrive, but this time not only did Peter and Sarah both arrive and leave in daylight (they left at 12:54 pm, and there is no way that they arrived at 12:54 am), but they pointedly did not say the time that Peter and Sarah arrived. It almost seemed to me that they engineered the time to leave so that all of the teams left on the same plane (or at least so that there was time for David and Mary to leave on the last plane out of Chennai).
This is the only thing that has bothered me about the show. While I understand that it is more dramatic to engineer ways to get the teams pretty much at the same time, I still think that teams that finish well or poorly should be rewarded or penalized if they are able to get a much earlier or later flight.
But, boy, I don't think anybody but Peter is shedding any tears over his elimination.

So how much respect do you have for the Cho brothers? I think what they did was just plain classy. There's really no other way to put it. Although it'd be nice, I don't think you can keep playing the nice guys if you expect to win. As they say, nice guys finish last, but not this week. Zing!

Is it just me, or did it seem like Phil took a lone time to annouce that Peter & Sarah were out of the game. Like, maybe he had a personal struggle and at the last second, decided he wasn't going to say "but the good news is..." and instead decided to put poor overburdened, abused, hydrolic fuel leaking Sarah out of her misery becasue Peter was JUST THAT MUCH OF A TURD.
And, Mary was so sweet when she made the Steven Segal comment! I'd love to see her snipe a little less when she feels pressured, but that team has a good heart and have inspired other racers to be good people, too.

I was a nervous wreck watching this episode! I agree that the Cho brothers went "above and beyond" to help David and Mary. And remember last season the hippies played an honest, good-natured game, and they won.
I want to see Mary experience all she can in the world. She enjoys every moment with such enthusiasm. How about a "Take 5" type of show with Mary and others (we'll let David go along if he's nice) going around the world? She be such a fantastic ambassador for Americans. And we could use all the help we can get these days.
Hallelujah, Peter's gone! And hallelujah again, Sarah's rid of him. He's worse than stuff I've scraped off the bottom of my shoes...
