I may get a little pissy along the way, so please forgive me in advance.
The CW Network, a amalgamation of the old WB and UPN networks, has ordered full seasons for two of its shows. The first is the Kelsey Grammer-produced comedy The Game. Network executives have been impressed with the 95% retention rate of this show from its lead-in Girlfriends, which is also produced by Kelsey Grammer. According to the press release, The Game centers on the lives and relationships among NFL wives, girlfriends and mom/managers who use their best to help their men stay on the field and on their arm.
The other show to be picked up for a full season is ... 7th Heaven. Here's where I get pissy. I can't believe that this was renewed, especially in its current incarnation. I guess that this stripped-down, nearly Camden-less version of the show is now so cheap to make that the network can pick up the remaining episodes without making a dent in their checking account. I can't see it being picked up because its popularity is soaring; the majority of comments I've seen about the show say it's even worse than it had become over the last few seasons. Then again, 7th Heaven could be staying because the CW has so little in development to replace it. Either way, I think it was a bad move and one that might hurt the network in the end.

More disappointment from the CW. First the decision to drop Everwood for 7th Heaven and then to renew 7th Heaven? Does Ruthie get to come home now?
7th Heaven does not resemble 7th Heaven. Maybe(?) with its move to Sunday it is doing better? Is that possible?
As to the Game - it is alright. I am a bit surprised because I felt Girlfriends was dragging - not bad but not great either.
Will it hurt the CW? One can only speculate for now - however, I am shaking my head on the 7th Heaven issue. I would have thought that it would be next on the cancel list.

I am dizzy with nausea over the news about "7th Heaven." Seriously, Brenda Hampton must be sleeping with someone at the network. Even long-time fans have been unhappy with this season, which is the lowest in a years-long decline. Truly, it is impossible to have any respect for network heads.

Maybe because the ratings are not good?
Damn the network caring about ratings and advertising profit and not what WENDY wants our likes.

Hey - I think this proves that there is a God. And he wants TV to be so bad that we stop watching. That's also why the Aerie girls were created.

@#4 Actually, I'm pretty sure the ratings for Veronica Mars have been better than 7th heaven, or at least on the same level... granted, they're still terrible compared to all the other major networks.

AHH! I totally agree. Why hasn't Veronica been picked up yet? By the way people talk in news reports it sounds like its going to be. And then....we still get nothing. Every ratings report i read its always about how to keep an eye on Veronica and how its soaring right now. It is the best show on television and i don't know why they wouldn't pick it up!

Don't worry guys, I think Veronica Mars will get full season order for sure in the next couple of weeks. the show is holding up like 90 percents of the Gilmore Gilrs audience and it is doing better in ratings and more viewers than it was last year on UPN. Consider that many of the shows from WB actually get worse ratings this year than last year, I would be shocked if the CW doesn't pick up VM.

I hope Girlfriends comes back another year, but, the current storyline looks like the series is wrapping up pretty soon.

It seems the new CW kept the most dimwitted of the UPN and The WB's decision makers. It's sad seeing the Camden kids growing up and opting out to pursue bigger role$. However, moving Seventh Heaven to Sunday night will finish it off.
I was surprised they got Lauren and Alexis to return to the Gilmore set and I predict they won't return after this season. I hope the writers tie-up the loose ends and give this great show a worthy finale.
As for the new shows, add me to the list of those who "Hate Chris" and I get make anything out of Veronica Mars. I would have kept going with "Pepper Dennis"!
