Bindi Irwin, the darling 8-year old daughter of the late Steve Irwin, is going to hold off for a year before filming her wildlife series. Apparently a lot of people got pretty upset when they saw the recent news that Bindi was going to star in Bindi, The Jungle Girl for Discovery Kids. Critics complained that the little girl was being exploited by television producers because of her father's fame and headline-grabbing death from a stingray barb to his heart. The family's manager says the media speculation did not figure into their decision and that he needs a one-year vacation after the death of his close friend. To be clear, Bindi's series for Discovery Kids started several months before Steve Irwin died. The series was to be about Bindi, with Steve making occasional appearances to do some crazy stuff. It was supposed to begin airing in January.

The girl must be asked - if she wants to continue you can't deny it. But if she's starring under protest the critics are said right

I don't understand the first comment at all.
She was doing the show before he died. After he died it was still a go. It's obvious that she loves animals and seems to want to follow in her dad's place. And it wasn't like she was gonig to be put in danger.

She's a cool kid and is more mature that most it seems. I say let her move forward. For that family it would probably be a great way of healing.

That anyone would refer to this intelligent and energetic 8 year old child as a "whore" in ANY context speaks volumns about the writer's lack of moral values.

if bindi wants to carry on to follow in the steps of her dad's good work then so be it-it makes me mad at how people try to rule her life. her family would not push her to do something that she would'nt want too. the public should just mind their own flippin bees wax and let this wonderful kind loving family to get on with theirs. it also makes me mad when people selects images from the internet, prints them out and then sell them on ebay for anything upto £4.00-if they was to put the money raised to australia zoo to help fund steve's good work it would'nt be so bad but i have'nt seen very many that have mentioed it in their autions.
so bindi my love-if you want to carry on you do it my girl-i know for sure your daddy would be proud.
love to you allxxx

your daddy was my mum's,my 2 sisters and my hero-he was so good with his job, he could pick up a snake that was lashing out one minute and so calm and at ease with him the next minute. he taught us all about wildlife and how to protect them.
when we heard the sad news that he had passed away we all cried-we all loved him and we will never forget him. we have got a lovely photo of you all on the wall in our living room, and we feel that you are all our very close friends and we hope to keep in contact with you all. bindi i must say that you are a very brave girl and we are all so very proud of you. we hope that you liked the little ballerina necklace and hair bobbles and that bob liked his thomas the tank t-shirt that we sent to you. my mum have got bob his birthday card and present ready to send,we have also got you something too, also we will be sending christmas presents for you all and a card at the same time.
