(S04E04) (This is an early review courtesy of the Adult Swim Fix) After months of waiting, Aqua Teen Hunger Force has finally returned to finish out the tail end of it's fourth season which started last December. Only three episodes (Dirtfoot, Boost Mobile, and Deleted Scenes) aired at the time and the season then went on hiatus until now. It was assumed that the time in between was dedicated to finishing up the ATHF movie (it exists!), but it's nice to see the show back on the small screen.
If doesn't take a genius to figure out what this episode was about. Just look at the title. No joke, the word "dick" had to have been used over a hundred times in the eleven minutes. Of course, now you're asking yourself what would prompt Carl, Meatwad, Shake, and Frylock to say dick over and over again? Quite simple really. The foursome got lunch at their local Wong Burger (great slogan by the way, "At Wong Burger, when it's right, it's Wong!") and while everyone else got food discounts from their "Rip N' Win" game, Carl received an ominous fortune: you will get your dick ripped off tonight.
Delightful huh? And sure enough, later that day two little Chinese dumplings with feet and big toothy grins showed up with sharp hooks looking to cut off Carl's pride and joy. They had necklaces made of severed penises! Funny though, that whenever we saw a dick, be it alone or in a pile with others, it was blurred out with standard color bars. Almost like a nod from Maiellaro and Willis, acknowledging that the word dick is being used copiously so there's no need to see them too. Coincidentally, I feel weird that I keep saying "dick" over and over now... although I suppose it's all in context here.
So it turns out that the owner of Wong Burger, Mr. Wong Burger, is building his own rocket... made of dicks. It's actually The Dickship Model X72-T to be precise. That's why he needs tons of, you know. The Aqua Teens were pretty proactive in this episode though. Frylock ended up cutting off Carl's hoo-hah (I'm trying switch it up...) and turned him into a woman. Then the team even did some investigating. That never happens. But they found Mr. Wong Burger (he looked just like a dick if you want a visual) and attempted to thwart his plans. He flew away, but ended up crashing his Dickship into his dick headquarters.
Other stuff that I found amusing?
- After Frylock performed the sex change on Carl, Shake ate Carl's dick. When he found it? Priceless. (A perfectly good hotdog in the trash! And it's sitting right on top of two soggy walnuts!)
- Anyone else see the TV? After the Wong Burger commercial, Space Ghost came on.
- The end credits were funny too. Everyone's first name was, you guessed it. Dick.
Now I don't know about everyone else, but I thought this one was spectacular. One of the best Aqua Teen episodes, easily makes my top ten. What did everyone else think?

Frylock: Why don't you just call someone to pick you up!?
Wong Burger: ... I will...

Not quite the best, some laughs felt forced for the sake of saying "dick" over and over again, but seeing over 4900+ dicks on the screen and knowing Standards issued an average of 4.93 complaints with the episode each second made it worthwhile [but it just wasn't the same knowing South Park already did this with "shit", oh well] - loyal fan to the end, glad to see it back on. And what's up with the reporter at the end? I guess maybe that's the ultimate irony, they said dick 50+ times but he couldn't call Mr. Wong a "dickhead."
Lawl.

The funniest inadvertant thing about this episode was how it showd up on my Dish Network DVR:
"Dickisode
Family/Children
(2006)
Season Premier
"
I've noticed before that whoever (tvguide?) does the programming for Dish Network sets everything on cartoon network to "Family/Children" but for some reason this cracked me up more than usual.

Matt and Dave have given up on this show. They aren't even trying to write clever episodes anymore. Just let the show die if this is what they are going to make. And yeah, the voices were of a terrible quality. No craft to this episode whatsoever. I will say, the color sensor bars were pretty good. But the whole "dick" premise was stupid. When in doubt, go to the toilet, right? This b.s. is for idiots and frat brothers.

I don't think I've laughed so hard during an Aqua Teen episode. Then again I haven't seen all the episodes.

This was easily the worst episode ATHF has done. It isn't even close. I am a HUGE ATHF fan and have watched each epidsode numerous times and own all the DVDs, but this was the first time I didn't laugh at least once during an episode. Even the pilot is leagues better than this trash. It was obvious the creators didn't care anymore about the show after the "Play All" gag in volume 3 of the DVD releases. This episode just further proves that they have no idea what they are doing and they don't care because they believe people will buy into any garbage they trot out there. Considering the brilliance of eary Mooninite episodes and The Broodwich (among others), you can tell they have some talent. But now I have to wonder if they forgot what made ATHF so great? It was never crass shock humor or even hyper-violence, it was the banter between the Aqua Teens and Carl.

They're probably burnt out after working on the movie, which is expected. Even Matt Stone and Trey Parker from South Park explained some of their third season episodes dipped in quality because of it. Give it time.

Hey Gang,
This episode reminded me of when I discovered ATHF a couple years ago. It gets funnier with each viewing.
Is it me or was Wong supposed to be a slam on Kim Jong Il. The glasses, trying to launch a rocket, a big dick, Asian...
Does anyone know what SGC2C episode was playing on the TV after the Wong Burger commercial???

If this episode makes your top ten ATHF list you either:
1. Haven't seen many episodes.
or
2. Are a dumbass.
This had none of the qualities that made me love ATHF so much from the beginning. The first three minutes at the Wong Burger were the funniest in the episode IMO.

This was BY FAR the BEST episode of this season so far. This and Handbanana had the qualities that attracted me to ATHF from the beginning. You go, Williams Street.

I find it amusing the way some of you talk like ATHF is highbrow intellectual comedy ATHF has always been incredibly stupid and dumb that is what made it great sure this episode was maybe a bit TOO stupid but don't act like your some kind of art major and dick jokes are somehow below you it just makes you look like a tard

This was a horrible episode. If this is where the show is going (lame toilet humor for people of low intelligence), then just kill it now. Every show is entitled to a few bad episodes, so I hope they pick it back up.

I thought that the episode fell flat. There were a few good jokes, but most weren't anything that hasn't been rehashed a thousand times (except for building everything out of dicks, which was almost the only novelty in the episode). Turning Carl into a woman was predictable. The closet was funny.
It was really uninspired.

I find it curious that a TV show/episode completely dedicated to vulgarity hovering around dicks is considered comedy gold, yet somehow an episode equally centered around vaginas (I guess pussy would be the vulgar equivelent)or ripping them off/out/whatever (mutilating them in some way) would NEVER make it on the air. Our culture is so centered around humor and discussion about penises that it has created a censorship bias and double standard, one that vastly favors female safeguarding and protection.
Let me ask one question, when karl (or whoever it was) gets turned into a female by having his dick ripped off, do they give him a vagina? of course not... wouldnt be allowed to be shown, and apparently "being female" is constituted by lacking a penis, not by having a vagina. Just shows how desensitized our culture is to one set of genitals, and how protective it is to the other.
