(S10E05) This episode seems to complete the reeducation of Sarah. She is definitely over her adoration of Peter. And just in time because Peter becomes an even bigger jerk this episode. It seems that no one is a Peter fan on the race, except for Peter that is.On the train when Peter learns that the Cho brothers, David and Mary and Lyn and Karlyn are exchanging info he decides to start sharing info with the beauty queens. It looks a bit as if he is hitting on them in the process. The Chos decide to mess with Peter by using a fake phone to pretend to make reservations. Peter immediately borrows a phone and tries to make reservations. Later when they are at the airport, Peter gets angry when the Beauty Queens don't share information with them but not before he does a cutting imitation of David and Mary.
The teams head to India. Lyn and Karlyn enjoy India because the people have more meat on their bones while Rob and Kimberley complain about the smell and wish they were jaunting through Europe. This pretty much explains why I am rooting for Lyn and Karlyn over Rob and Kimberley.
The Detour involves either creating a picture or working with a crocodile, Peter and Sarah breeze through but not without a few fights. Peter doesn't seem to care whether or not Sarah is inconvenienced or troubled, blithely bounding ahead which she lags behind again and again. According to him, his behavior is fine and he is not planning to change anytime soon. He tells her it is only a game which is pretty ironic considering that he's usualyl the one freaking out.
On to my favorite couple, David and Mary. I love them and thought it was very sweet when David talked about getting out of the coal mine for good but seems like she drives him too hard and is always yelling. Had they done the crocodile detour they might not have lagged quite so far behind but it was her insistence that had them creating a picture out of rice powder.
The Roadblock involves an Indian driving test which is scary but not overly challenging.
Peter and Sarah are first. When Dustin and Kandice roll in Phil asks them if they will be the first all female team to win the race. He doesn't ask the same thing of Lyn and Karlyn who are also doing well. David and Mary are last but this season there is a twist. They don't lose their money but they have to come in first next week because they are "marked for elimination."
Next week it looks like Lyn and Karlyn get into it with Dustin and Kandice. We are treated to a clip of the "Beauty Queens" calling Lyn and Karlyn pigs.

Ok, Peter chewing his food was just enough to make me want to slap some sense into Sarah. She was infatuated with him as her doctor who helped her walk again. The man outside the office is an arrogant ass. He needs to be chopped down to size. He's such a jerk.
David and Mary would have been great with the croc. She'd have been belting out her little laugh/screams. It would have been a hoot. I love Mary, but David needs to grow some and tell her what's what sometimes. "Dammit , Honey, I ain't gonna play with no rice. Let's go wrestle us a crocodile".
I'm hoping the Brothers and the Lyns team up with Kentucky and try to make sure Kentucky gets first place or as close as possible....if one of them gives up first place for Kentucky, then Kentucky better be nice and give whatever gift they win to the team who gave it up for them.

They don't HAVE to come in first, there's just a 30 minute penalty if they don't. Knowing that nobody ever gets too far behind on the race (there's always one or two flights to the next city to bunch everyone up again), I'd say they have a decent chance of surviving...

You're forgetting how close T&T got to being last with their 30 minute penalty. It would be best to shoot for first than to think there is plenty of time at third, fourth, etc.

I just love David and Mary. It really burns me when people like that pompous ass Peter make fun of them. They may be from Kentucky. And perhaps not as fortunate as most people. But, at least they are real and genuine. And yes, David needs to step up and tell that woman to go wrestle them thar crocs!!! LOL Honestly, I hope they make it all the way. If not, at least the top 3!

David and Mary (And to a lesser extent The Beauty Queens) are all I'm left watching this season's race for anymore, because this season is Snoozevile, population: me...
Last season's competitors were compelling, interesting, fun to watch and I rooted like crazy for those lovable hippie scamps. This season feels like someone said "Hey, we don't have too many interesting candidates this time... Oh the heck with it, just throw a dart and that's who plays... I'm going to go take a nap."
Even the challenges aren't interesting this time around... "Guess what, you're climbing something again." (Though, I will give them points for use of flaming arrows.)
These people haven't been much fun to watch and they're not very lovable.
I demand more lovable, less loathable next season.

I'd love to see a "Globetrekker" type show starring Mary. She's so excited about everything she sees, and even tries a few words of the local language. What a great American ambassador she'd make!
I'm disgusted with the "Ugly American" types (Rob and Kimberley, among others) that can only complain about the smells, the food, the people, etc. If you want everything to always smell nice, stay home with a can of Glade...
