Frisky Dingo: Meet Killface (series premiere)

frisky dingo(S01E01) This is an early review.

Adam Reed and Matt Thompson, the brains behind the sorely missed Sealab 2021, just might have another praise worthy series on their hands with Frisky Dingo. The series will focus on a struggle between good and evil as the murderous Killface faces off against super hero Awesome-X. In the premiere episode, we're introduced to Killface, but not Awesome-X, though we do get a glimpse of the mailbox of his alter ego, Xander Crews in the last scene.

Killface has an unsettling "Mr. Burns" kind of malevolence, but cranked up about fifty million degrees. He can be very warm and understanding, but little things will set him off and cause him to split people in half with his laser gun. He hires a film crew to help him market his new doomsday device to the world, but he's spent most of his budget on the device itself, a propulsion device that will send the Earth into the sun. When one of the crew gets mouthy, Killface splits him in half and performs an impromptu ventriloquist routine using the severed torso, not realizing that the gag about the puppet having termites doesn't really work when the puppet isn't made of wood. After tossing the severed body on the ground he commands the only female member of the team to make out with it.

We're also introduced to Killface's son, who he apparently doesn't have a very good relationship with. His son mumbles incoherently and pushes his cereal bowl on the floor just to upset his father. After realizing he doesn't have the means to broadcast his plan to every TV in the world or even put it out on DVD, he resorts to having postcards printed up and mailed out to ten thousand people.

Best line: And here I am reduced to postcards, the dry hump of marketing strategies.
