Andy Dick does Martha, all hell breaks loose

Andy DickOh, I wish I had this on tape.

Andy Dick was the guest on Martha Stewart's show today, and it was...surreal. When she announced that he was on the show, the first thing I thought of was, who booked him? She's actually going to have a conversation with Andy Dick? They're actually going to let him handle sharp knives and glue guns? This was going to be some interesting daytime television.

He was there to promote Employee of the Month, and he told Martha that he was a stockboy at K-Mart as a teen. So she brought out the employee of the month from a local Kmart and they were to have a battle to see who could stock the shelves the best (Martha would be the judge, of course). Well, when Andy sliced into the box with his Exacto knife, he accidentally opened a pillow, and that's all he needed to go on a rampage. He took the pillow and threw it at his opponent, and feathers went all over the stage. Then he proceeded to simply take the boxes of items (Martha Stewart Living products, natch) and dump them on the shelves. The audience was in hysterics, and there's nothing funnier than seeing Martha Stewart in her low boil, trying to remain calm and going along with things when you know she wants to wring the guy's neck.

The next segment? Andy with a sharp knife and hole puncher, making jack-o-lanterns. Oddly, he wasn't the one who hurt himself. Martha burned herself on one of the tools. And Andy put a giant pumpkin on his head and couldn't get it off. Imagine the sight of Andy Dck with a giant jack-o-lantern on his head, smashing his head against the counter trying to get it off, with Martha trying to help him.

The episode also had what is probably the exchange of the week. Martha was talking about Andy's name.

Martha: "Dick is an easy name to remember."
Andy: "Well, Martha, sometimes it's hard."

After the commercial, Martha said she was exhausted and shaking after her Dick segment. I think she should hire him as her full-time sidekick.
